Summary/Abstract: By analyzing the quality of an educational system, at some point we must also make an analysis of the quantity of knowledge of a particular group of respondents who are part of that system. It is in this paper that we dealt with such an analysis. We focused on the field of Geometry + Measurements, especially on the Figure in the Plane and Space (2D figures and 3D figures) and transformations. 93 pupils of the fourth grade of elementary school participated in the research. We studied to what extent lower-grade students are familiar with the geometric concepts, and by this we determined how much they are willing to study the geometric contents in higher grades of elementary school. We used a diagnostic test that was created according to (some) indicators in the area of skills related to the age of 8 or 9 years for Geometry and 76Measurements. The results we came up with represent very important data that should serve teachers as parameters to plan their work at math classes that deal with the geometric contents.
