Summary/Abstract: In the last decade there is an intensive discussion on academic spin-off processes as a way of transmission of the knowledge resulting from university research. The nature of these activities presupposes support of internal and external environment of the university. The aim of the article is to contribute to the debate on cooperation between universities and practice. The paper analyzes the internal and external innovation ecosystem of the Slovak Agricultural University including the relationship within the triple helix. Sources of information for its processed were interviews with actors in the innovation ecosystem. Cooperation between the university and practice was analyzed also on the basis of a contractual relationship of the university in 2011-2016. The mail finding of the study is, that over the last 35 years there is the integration of scientific research and transfer activities, it is not, however, a significant system integration, yet. Innovative university system affects the local and regional development.
