Summary/Abstract: Given the rapidly expanding market for family travel, tourism scholars have noted the growing popularity of connected tourism in recent years. All this calls for extensive research on the phenomenon of family tourism. Numerous studies can be distinguished, depending on whether one is assessing the opportunities in a particular market, the effectiveness of a strategy, a marketing plan, different campaigns or the specific requirements of a particular group of consumers for different products, etc. The present study is focused on the management of the hotel product of family mountain recreational tourism through the implementation of an advanced management model. The object of the study are selected accommodation facilities – one-star family hotels in region Stara Planina (location Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Troyan), and the aim is to optimize the management by identifying the behavior of the consumer and assessing the management of selected facilities in the tourism region Stara Planina, location Veliko Tarnovo – Gabrovo – Troyan.
