Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the main issues related to the development of political science in the context of globalization and the new problems related to COVID–19. Clarifications of geoeconomics from the point of view of spatial development in the conditions of global change are clarified. Certain aspects of spatial development and the definition of the main approaches for clarifying the subject of the connection between political decisions and geoeconomics are indicated. Clarifications are made regarding the differences in the interpretation of the main problems related to the implementation of the regional policy in the nation state. and the globalization of the world economy. The issues under consideration are debatable.
