Summary/Abstract: The topic of the labour cost is very popular in the economic research and in the public debates, and it is identified in most cases with the wages and the various allowances associated with them. In our opinion, the broader understanding of this concept requires the consideration of other elements, each of which has a different and sometimes decisive influence on the decision to seek a specific job. For some people, for example, leisure may be more significant factor in choosing a job than the wage, while for others the opportunity for development is crucial. Therefore, other elements of the labour cost are presented in the current study, arguing the need for a transition from a monetary to a multifaceted approach in the understanding of this concept.
