Summary/Abstract: The Indo-Pacific vision has become highly important, both for the United States of America and for other states, due to the majority of global maritime trade passing through this region. Its stability is crucial, regardless of whether the vision is shared or not. From the perspective of maritime security and the information provided by the Maritime Security Index, the priority issue in the Indo-Pacific is the threats and/or risks posed by certain transnational actors related to the violation of the rule of law. The study examines the topic of maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region, focusing on the threats posed by individual transnational actors. It highlights the significance of past terrorist attacks on American warships and tankers as landmarks in the field of maritime security. Employing a research method that includes a conceptual discussion of maritime security and an analysis based on data from the Maritime Security Index, the findings have implications for policymakers and stakeholders involved in ensuring maritime security and promoting regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Furthermore, it reveals that there is no homogeneous level of security among the states that make up the Indo-Pacific.
