Summary/Abstract: The following paper will examine communication activities in social media carried out by organizations from the nonconventional energy sector. The author has collected primary quantitative data about social media pro昀椀les of the largest organizations as solar and wind producers, as well as renewable energy investors and associations. The data are presented in two tables for comparison purposes – one for Bulgarian and one for international companies. The results indicate that organizations from the nonconventional energy sector do not use the full communication spectrum of social media channels, which deprives them of the opportunity to participate in the public dialogue, present their position, build social trust, and influence attitudes in a direction favorable to the sector.
