Summary/Abstract: The study investigates the use of language in classroom interactions in Romanian language and literature classes of Hungarian students. After a theoretical introduction, the author summarizes previous research on the topic and presents the conclusions of data collection using a reflective diary. The author seeks to answer the question of how the digitalization of the classroom during the COVID period affected the use of language in the classroom, as perceived by the teachers who participated in the research. The data suggest that digital classrooms did not significantly change the language use routines of these lessons, but they did provide opportunities for rapid and creative processing of a number of digital language use resources; however, the shared emotional-attitudinal and learning experiences of concrete classroom presence were not compensated for by these opportunities.
