Summary/Abstract: Intercultural education is an essential field in the context of globalisation and cultural diversity. The following models are used in intercultural education: assimilation, pluralistic, integrative, global, dialogue, critical and experiential. These models and perspectives are complementary and can be combined to create effective and relevant intercultural education that responds to the needs of a diverse and interconnected society. Jesus Christ is often presented as an ideal model in intercultural education because of his teachings centred on love, compassion, respect for human dignity and inclusion of all people, regardless of their cultural or ethnic background. Education modelled on Jesus Christ develops intercultural competences. It also contributes to a more just, peaceful and caring society.
