Summary/Abstract: Project management is an essential tool for institutional development and solving specific problems in any organization, regardless of the field of activity. Effective project management brings a multitude of benefits for the organization, the teams involved and the project beneficiaries, contributing to the achievement of long-term objectives and increasing organizational performance. The article presents important theoretical information about project management and its importance for institutions and individuals. The theoretical information is mirrored by the illustration of a project plan, an example in which the main sections of a project and their logical correlation can be seen. The transition from theory to practice is exemplified through research, highlighting the use of projects in public and private institutions.
