Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the representation of Bulgarian and Serbian precedent phenomena (names, phrases or images) on clothing as an indication of ethnic status and a way of social self-representation among the native spikers of Bulgarian and Serbian language. It studies the history and linguocultural potential of the precedent phenomena, compares the situation in two Slavic linguocultures and makes conclusions about the similar patterns. The research is based on clothing models from Bulgarian brand „Patriot. Bulgaria” and Serbian brand „Horus”.
