Summary/Abstract: Social researchers have long focused their attention on studying the factors that influence public attitudes towards migrants and have revealed that an accurate understanding of the social context of the host country is of fundamental importance for the success of reception and integration policies. Public opinion towards migrants, whether negative or positive, does not depend on existing regulations, but influences the success of integration processes, which is why its analysis in traditional and social media is of special interest. The analysis of information from the media analysis points to two types of negative images of migrants – a young man coming from the Middle East illegally and committing crimes, who presents himself as a „refugee“, but is actually an invader intent on taking over European territory, and the rich Ukrainian, who came on vacation to escape military turmoil and mobilization, doing shady business and benefiting from the funds provided by the taxpayers of Bulgaria and the European Union (EU).
