Summary/Abstract: The “global village” of the 21st century is becoming more and more technical, so it is difficult to find the place and role of published material. The article focuses on the importance of term bases, including their value and quality in an age when almost everything is downloadable. The second part of the article enlists several types of dictionary, including regular, printed, specialized and cultural ones as well.
