Summary/Abstract: Divković’s lexis, which is markedly multi-layered and varied in origin in his work Divković’s Sermons on Sunday’s Gospel for Every Year, is analyzed in the attachment. Words of the so-called common people’s language,of Croatian-Glagolitic religious literature, of Dalmatian-Dubrovnik literature,and of Church Slavonic and Turkish origin, etc., are distinguished and concrete examples are analyzed. Special attention is given to words that are used in the modern language but have different meanings. Lastly, diminutives,contact synonyms, loanwords and Divković’s neologisms (including hapaxes) are discussed.
