Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the issue of broadening Opole's borders in 2016. and the political and social implications of this decision. An analysis of the process of border enlargement was showed in the context of the accompanying social protests. The article is enriched by the author's research on the ratio of inhabitants of Opole and areas subject to change of borders to the project of changes of borders.
