Summary/Abstract: Sport of the disabled has been developing dynamically for more than fifty years, and activity of people, who practice it has become more professional. Although interest in sport of the disabled is increasing around the world, this is still a rather unknown and non-appreciated activity in Poland. Therefore, the article aims at drawing attention to physical activity and sport practicing by the disabled, as one of the social life spheres of this category of our country’s citizens, where phenomena of social exclusion and marginalization are still observed. There are qualitative data used in the research, collected through a technique of an in-depth free interview and observations, conducted among the disabled who play sports. Analysis and interpretation of the research material was performed in accordance with procedures of the grounded theory.
