Summary/Abstract: In 2004, a contest on memories of the Bulgarians from the period of socialism has been put online. Its effect is a book Аз живях социализма published by 45 Жанет, which collected 171 personal memories and stories submitted from all over the world. Their authors are people of different ages (from 82 to 21 years). They are, therefore, people using both in speech and in writing very diverse Bulgarian. Article aims to choose from the texts included in the book the most important features of language which are typical for specific generations of the Bulgarian language users. Observations are conducted on two levels: lexical and stylistic. The findings resulting from the analysis show how Bulgarian language evolved in the period after World War II, what its features should be regarded today as archaic, and which are the most recent phenomena.
