Summary/Abstract: The paper describes the words for anger in Bulgarian, Romanian, Albanian and Greek. The first part is related to the definition of anger: Anger or wrath (rage) is an intense emotional response. It is an emotion that invloves a strong uncomfortable and emotional response to a provocation, pain or some kind of threat. This section explores the meanings of the term anger in all the languages mentioned above. The second part is related to the etymological analysis. Using as a base different types of dictionaries – defining, etymological and dictionaries of synonyms of the Balkan languages, the phonetic changes and the changes in the lexical and semantic structure of the words have been analyzed.
