Summary/Abstract: The report provides an overview of some of the basics in Regulation (EC) No 987/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009. Laying down the procedure for implementing Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 on the coordination of Social security systems related to occupational injury benefits. Benefits in the case of accidents at work are considered as part of the social security system of the European Union(EU). The provisions considered, subject to the preconditions laid down therein, prevail over the rules of national law, of persons falling within the personal scope of the regulation.
