Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to characterize the essence of graphics development in computer games of the last decades based on the concepts of cinematographic and visual quality. The proposed categories are intended to indicate the features of electronic production that are close to earlier traditional artistic media. The analysis of some computer games lets us believe that measures adopted in their production make them resemble a film or a painting. More general examples and longer analyses of individual productions are preceded by the description of the concept of cultural interfaces. The term used for the purposes of the text sorts out the issues of relations between works created in various media and the definition of media convergence and a broader understanding of virtuality. The examples indicated in the presentation briefly introduce the reader to the extensive subject matter of the visual quality of computer games of recent years and what affects it.
