Summary/Abstract: The article proposes a reading of Ludmiła Marjańska’s novel The Foot of the Third Grace in the context of Aldous Huxley’s Two or Three Graces and showcases the parallels that can be drawn from the comparison of two texts written by authors belonging to two different epochs and cultural milieus; creating in different geographical and social circumstances and speaking different languages.The first part of the article focuses on the discussion of the novel by Marjańska in the context of the three Graces motif; followed by a parallel discussion of Huxley’s work. Comparing the two texts with regard to the narrative; creation of characters and their attitude towards art can lead to the conclusion that even though there is no proof that Marjańska was familiar with Huxley’s work while writing The Foot of the Third Grace; the analogies between the stories are common and obvious.
