Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was the characteristics of cultural differences and the reference to the literary translation of a journey on the basis of the material from one of the book by Polish journalists Mariusz Wilk. In the theoretical part, apart from mentioned notions, there were also characterised Polish cultural realities. Analytical part was devoted to the study of the ways of translation of chosen types of realia nomination, indicating on the cultural differences, what enabled to form conclusions.
