Summary/Abstract: The author discusses ways how the inspiration coming from the affective and performative turnabout in humanities can be applied to the Polish language teaching. First, the text draws attention to the importance for education of the newly recognized form of functioning in a culture dominated by emotions and dependent upon the dynamics of individual and collective affections. The Polish language is recognized as the most important cultural tool (software), crucial to the proper and independent functioning of the community. The author points out some basic problems, which, in connection with these diagnoses, require a reform or methodological redefinition of the Polish language teaching system. The new methodologies and ways of interpreting texts and contemporary forms of existence are considered crucial for an understanding of the situation of stu23dents and teachers in the socio-educational sphere saturated by medialization of affects. The conclusions lead to the project of a new performative-centric (not text-centric) core curriculum.
