Summary/Abstract: The article draws attention to the insufficient presence in the training of future teachers of the Polish language and literature of issues related to the museum, a place of memory and genius loci that are valuable elements of cultural education. It shows possible reasons for not learning outside the classroom and presents the advantages of learning in different environments. In the context of a discussion about the role of the university in preparation for the profession and requirements for teachers, the article describes an example of workshops for students of the Polish Faculty at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, which were based on the author’s experience in working with high school students.
