Summary/Abstract: The author’s introductory reflections are focused on understanding a teenager as a relational subject. Then, she discusses selected results of her research on the school reading of Oscar Wilde’s The Teacher of Wisdom. This text encouraged a group of high school students from Kraków to reflect upon multifaceted issues. The article discusses only those results and conclusions which concern Wilde’s text and also students’ reflections upon the reasons why a Polish language teacher could be called “the teacher of wisdom”, the need to create an anthropological and existential dialogue with him/her, as well as the objectives of the teacher of the Polish language and literature.
