Summary/Abstract: The text id devoted to a description of the specificity of action research as a strategy of qualitative research involved in social and educational practice and researcorrequired by social practice. Given the multiplicity of the concepts of studies and the attractiveness of the name – action researche – attention id devoted to the risks and pitfalls encountered by researchers who decide to use this strategy. The manifestations of simplification, such as “pseudo-research” and the sources of these simplifications are described. Among the sources there is the lack of theoretical underpinnings and perspectives, underestimation of the importance of the research discipline and epistemological deficiencies, and even the lack of ethical reflection. In the final part there is an indication of ted consequences of simplifications ans pitfalls as well ae a proposal to improve the methodological and methodical education of individuals and teamd who decide to do action research.
