Summary/Abstract: Contemporary electronic book is not only the medium of information, but also a document that users of new media can contribute or transform their way. What’s more, the social networking publications are a kind of platform for action, a personalized, interactive space, where the user can adapt multimedia message to suit their own needs. The new technologies, with a particular focus on mobile devices, are for users getting more frequent and universal way to get to know the multimedia. It brings a lot of changes in the possibilities to get to know a digital books. The article focuses on the problems which concern the place of electronic books in the social environment of the Internet. The author characterized examples of books projects. The projects have been prepared for users of the mobile devices, with a particular focus on tablets and smartphones. The mobile devices audience is still growing. More and more people get to know the digital documents by these devices. What’s more, taking advantage of the capabilities of mobile applications for viewing not only text documents, the reader becomes an active witness of the evolution of multimedia presentations and media convergence.
