Summary/Abstract: In the article I make the Polish reader familiar with a book published more than one hundred years ago, which has not lost its artistic values and literary charm, though. The prose poem by Juana Ramón Jiménez entitled “Platero y yo” (translated into Polish as Srebrzynek i ja or Srebroń i ja) provides a tender portrait of the donkey, describes the feelings and emotions of the man who is simultaneously the narrator, and represents many details of the topography, landscape, fauna and flora, and the everyday life in the Andalusian town of Moguer. In the article I elaborate on all these subjects. Besides describing the literary world and the narration mode, I add didactic advice of what drama techniques could a Polish language teacher make use of in their classes.
