Summary/Abstract: The publication is devoted to the absorption rate of the Structural Funds resources in the EU member states during the programming period 2007-2013. A comparative analysis has been made of the uptake of the Structural Funds appropriations in the member states in the programming period 2007-2013. A comparison has been undertaken with the Structural Funds absorption in the programming period 2000-2006. The absorption by states is being analyzed of the funds under the CF, ERDF and ESF in the period 2007-2013. The main reasons for the absorption level and the problems by states have been enumerated. The measures have been outlined which have to be taken to limit the arisen problems. Special attention is given to the absorption rate of the Structural Funds resources and the problems accompanying it in Bulgaria.
