Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on the difficulties of translating legal texts given the fact that the vast text typology in the legal domain and differences between systems and legal institutions. Moreover, the legal concepts themselves differ from one language to another and it is often difficult to find the adequate equivalent for legal terms. The study aims at shedding some light on the difficulty of translating from/into French and at answering the questions that every translator must ask himself/herself: what is the difference between the original and the translated text? Is a translation capable of evoking the same thing as the original?
