Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the article, the author discusses a recipe of the novel published in 1971. In the further parts of the article, he focuses on formal and thematic similarity of the literary [as well as movie] works of Konwicki from the 1960s. In the main part of the article, the author tries to reveal the intertextual complexities of the literary proposition made by Konwicki - the relations with the output of writers unwelcome by the official criticism (Bruno Schulz, Mikhail Bulhakov, Witold Gombrowicz). The novel is also - according to the author of the article - a voice of the generation, an important statement about the postwar Polish reality.
