Summary/Abstract: The French government hopes that the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) concluded on 24 December 2020 between the EU and the United Kingdom will open a new chapter in bilateral relations. Although the two countries may differ in trade competition and their visions of transatlantic relations, the UK is an indispensable partner of France in global politics and world security. With Brexit, discussions about the future of the EU will no longer significantly burden British-French relations.
