Summary/Abstract: The Labour Law in Croatia is one of the most interesting question for every government. Especially now when Croatian economy is deep in crises and there is no sign of recovery. Social partners were negotiating with Ministry of labour and pension system for more than a year. Social partners had conflicting opinions, on one side employers were promoting flexible approaches (especially for working time) while on the other side trade unions were pushing for rigid and fixed mechanism. In this article the author tried to give short critical overview of negotiation but also a critical overview of new Labour code who is in force since August 2014. Author will explore in more details new institutes in labour relations and also the main changes in it. Maybe the most interesting part of this work is retrospective of law between the two readings in the Parliament, because it is very clear which changes were put aside because of the pressure from trade unions. At the end we got Law that is doubtfully cost-effective.
