Summary/Abstract: Since January 2019, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) has been the only church in the country officially recognised by the Constantinople Patriarchate. The new church is still building its structures and gradually gaining recognition from other autocephalous Orthodox churches. The change of power in Ukraine in 2019 has led to a decrease in the importance of religious issues in Ukrainian domestic politics. This means that acceleration of the process of the unification of Ukrainian Orthodoxy within the OCU is currently unlikely.
