Summary/Abstract: The coronavirus pandemic has led the Spanish economy back into recession. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has launched a national rescue plan and is calling on the EU to establish a “Marshall Plan” for the eurozone. His concept of combined state and European intervention is aimed at lessening the scale of the economic crisis. Spain’s actions increase the pressure on the other EU Member States to back an economic stimulus plan for the eurozone.
