Šolska kronika: revija za zgodovino šolstva in vzgoje (School Chronicle: Journal for the History of Schooling and Education) (ISSN: 1318-6728) is a scientific and professional journal issued by the Slovenski šolski muzej (Slovenian School Museum). This organization is the oldest national institution in Slovenia, existing since 1898, dedicated to the research and presentation of educational heritage. The journal School Chronicle addresses various aspects of the history of schooling, education and pedagogics. It publishes academic articles, memoirs and testimonies (as historical sources), book reviews, reports from conferences and exhibitions. The journal School Chronicle has its origins in the joint proceedings of the Yugoslav education museums of Ljubljana (present-day Slovenia), Zagreb (present-day Croatia) and Belgrade (present-day Serbia), which were first published in 1964. The independent journal, under its current title and within the Slovenian School Museum, is published since 1992. The geographical scope of the journal particularly covers the area of present-day Slovenia, Central and South-Eastern Europe. The journal publishes two volumes per year, one of which is usually a thematic issue. Articles undergo a double blinded peer-evaluation by the reviewers, members of the international editorial board. Publications are submitted in Slovene or English language. From 2020 all articles are published in Open Access (license CC BY 4.0 International).
