There are identified the most important internal and external risk elements for Romanian’s security, during the interwar period. The vote of 20 May 1990 was the one that inaugurated the proportional election of the parliamentarians in the Romanian post-communism, as well as the popular election of the president of the republic. From a technical point of view, the parliamentary elections were distinguished not only by the absence of the legal electoral threshold, but also by the juxtaposition of two ways of distributing the mandates: with two geographical levels, in the case of deputies, and with only one level, that of the senators. This resulted in significant differences between the two Chambers in terms of electoral disproportionality, as the degree of overestimation of the first party was much stronger in the case of the Senate. From a political point of view, the elections, based on the largest popular participation in the history of Romanian post-communism, generated an unbalanced parliament with a hegemonic party format. Finally, as all these distinctive elements of the 20 May 1990 vote would remain unpaired, we can talk about the atypical character of the founding choices.

A Database Model for Social History: Historical Data Grinder and the Transylvanian Society of 19th and 20th Centuries – The study presents a new model for building a historical database, namely, the Historical Data Grinder (HDG). It is based on the EAV design model developed in bio-medicine and it offers some advantages for the historian especially when dealing with a large variety of heterogeneous sources. The database is very flexible and has a simple architecture, with fewer tables and relations when compared to a relational database. The HDG database has the possibility to store any kind of historical information with no limitations regarding the time period, geographic area or thematic range to which reference is made, and is also suitable as a teaching and experimental tool.

The article outlines the biographical path of Bishop Vasile Flueraş, from the years of his childhood and studies, to those of his service in the Church. Both at the Orthodox cathedral in the metropolis of Transylvania, where he was ecclesiarch, as well as at the Nicula monastery and the Calvaria church, Father Vasile Flueraş found himself under the same blessed protection of the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, all these holy places being dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos, Father Vasile having a special veneration and affinity towards the Mother of God, sharing three of her virtues that particularly characterized him too: humility, gentleness and tenderness of soul. In 1998, at the proposal of Archbishop Bartolomeu Anania, he was appointed vicar bishop of the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj, for his qualities of “monk and father confessor of great dignity and influence, whose spiritual zeal was doubled by an indisputable missionary vocation.” The reason for the call to the hierarchy of Father Vasile Flueraş was the dynamization of the missionary-pastoral and social-philanthropic activity of the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj. He was like an embodiment of the image of gentleness, of warm smile, of humility and tenderness and of a discreet and selfless philanthropist. Bishop Vasile Flueraş Someşanul was and will remain in the memory and in the hearts of those who knew him the man of God, the good shepherd, the father in the most authentic sense of the word.

The international political context of the years between 1956 and 1957, especially as seen in Hungary, has brought new changes in the Romanian ideology, which can be observed even in the cinema and theater at the time. This atmosphere can be observed in official documents of the Central Comity of the Communist Party from 1956, where the term “creative liberty” of theater and film directors but also every artist at the time is mentioned. From this starting point, because of the international political context, there are changes brought to life that cannot go around cinema and theater in Romania at the time. More than that, changes have been made to ongoing artistic production at the time, regarding all what is understood by artistic creation.

The postmodern current from 1980, with isolated antecedents from the second half of the 1960s, reshaptens the Romanian literature with the Western ones, anticipating and then accompanying through its pluralist philosophy the output from the communist regime and the transition to the present democracy, and the literary and cultural follow-up remains to be identified in the programmatic diversity of postmodernity. The nineties brought many critical perspectives and especially proclamations of the end of postmodernism, seeing the same triumphant pleasure. The first important debate on this issue in Romania took place in 1986, with the occasion of the emergence of a special number of "Critical Books" dedicated to postmodernism. During this period, an exposition of the evolution of the word postmodernism and its derivatives, which began to circulate in the Romanian cultural press before 1986, was made.
