These notes, made in the margin of a certain Polish-German project and its documentation, show from practical side the areas of historical rememberance that is present in the awarness of Polish and German university students. The concept of “recollection and reminiscence places” related to specific sites and events in history of Great Poland is provided with a commentary based mainly on so-called “participatory cognition”.

The author presents the stories of Central European intellectuals under a communist regime. He interprets one of the greatest novels written by Tadeusz Konwicki, "Mała apokalipsa". He concentrates on the portrayal of both grotesque and anti-Communist gestures, a topos of the Communist Warsaw and its strange characters.

The author of the text analyzing a book entitled Bielik-Robson. Żyj i pozwól żyć [Bielik-Robson. Live and let live] – a conversation with Agata Bielik-Robson conducted by Michał Sutowski. She describes the influence of the academic work of the philosopher on constructing her auto/biography. Autobiographical narrative – in which the most important part is the experience of the generation of martial law – is confronted with the conception of modern subjectivity proposed by Bielik-Robson and the philosophical phenomenon of ‘the anxiety of influence’ related to this phenomenon. In the text the author defends the thesis that thephilosophical attitude is not only the base for auto/biography, but also defines the worldview of the philosopher, which means it also defines the way of perceiving the surrounding reality and the rules of being in it.

The author of the text draws particular attention to the place the book Czy w tej autobiografii jest kobieta? Kobieca literatura dokumentu osobistego od początku XIX wieku do wybuchu II wojny światowej occupies in contemporary research on women’s autobiography. She notes that women’s literature of personal document is not yet sufficiently discussed by the Polish feminist literary criticism. Anna Pekaniec takes a comprehensive attempt to examine women’s autobiographical texts in historical and literary perspective and as a main goal focuses on presenting and describing the characteristics of women’s autobiography, as well as outputing a proposal for a definition or systematization of phenomena typical for women’s autobiographical documents. The author of the text points at the innovation of the thesis – for the first time the issue of women’s intimate journaling was raised on such a wide scale, indicating the directions in familiar and unfamiliar texts, expanding the research field for female representatives of different backgrounds, of different social status.

The subject of the text is a publication by Agnes Nęcka Intimate emigrations. On Polish contemporary autobiographic narratives. Various models of emigration experience were indicated in the text. All were characterised in the publications by the author who has studied the works by Zygmunt Haupt, Zbigniew Kruszyński, Manuela Gretkowska, Artur Leczycki, Mikołaj Łoziński, Tomasz Piątek, Michał Witkowski and Magdalena Tulli and on this basis has categorised the emigration as real, literary and biographical. It has also been noticed that autobiographical attempts made by the authors, listed by Agnieszka Nęcka, characterized by strangeness, feeling of rejection and building a separate identity on the exile, perform auto therapeutic functions. The publication was recognized valid in the research on contemporary Polish emigration literature.

In 1986 cardinal Józef Glemp consecrated the Martyrs Brothers church in Bydgoszcz. Two years later parish library started to function on the initiative of rev. Romuald Biniak and Literary Archconfraternity department in Bydgoszcz. The parish library is situated in the territory of Emaus Club located in the underneath of parish house. There are only card catalogues available in the library as well as an accessions register. Currently, collection contains more than 7 000 volumes which come solely from individual donations. In the library one can find the following sections: Belles-lettres, Belles-lettres for Children, Meditations, Mariology Literature, John Paul II, Church Teaching and Theology, Psychology and Family, Biographies, Poetry, Philosophy, Bible Studies, Tourism, Church History and History.

The article discusses the book Myśl językoznawcza z myślą o przekładzie [Linguistic Thought with a Thought on Translation](2015)by Elżbieta Tabakowska – a selection of articles and essays written by the Polish doyenne of cognitive translation studies. Arranged by Piotr de Bończa Bukowski and Magda Heydel, the selection of her 18 texts (including 5 translations from English by Agnieszka Pokojska), published from 1991 to 2014, presents an evolution of the author’s translatological thought and interests. In her summa Elżbieta Tabakowska, the translator and popularizer of works by Ronald W. Langacker, combines scholarly disquisition with brilliant analyses of diverse texts: excerpts from Tadeusz Konwicki’s novel Kompleks polski and its translation The Polish Complex by Richard Lourie; poems by Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Seamus Heaney, Elizabeth Bishop, Wisława Szymborska and Ewa Lipska; prose by James Joyce, Norman Davies and Lewis Carroll as well as software training course materials and Polish religious texts exemplifying the Marian cult. Issues discussed in the book are among others: imagery, contouring, profiling, point of view, iconicity, equivalence, ethnogrammar, intersemiotic translation, Idealized Cognitive Models and typicality effects. Władcy Prus, Austrii i Rosji – Fryderyk Wielki, caryca Katarzyna II i Maria Teresa – siłą zajęli Polskę i zlikwidowali Państwo Polskie. Tylko dobra koniunktura międzynarodowa pozwolić miała odzyskać niepodległość. Polacy modlili się o wojnę narodów, powtarzając słowa wieszcza.
