This paper examines the nature of the relationship with the Eastern Patriarchates of Moscow at the beginning of the kingdom of the Troubles — in the last years of the reign of Boris Godunov and False Dmitry I. The author analyzes the records of all the embassies from Jerusalem, Constantinople and the Patriarchate of Alexandria, of Mount Athos and the Balkan countries, showing the two-sidedness in the documentation provided by the Ambassadors of the order information. It is proposed to address these embassies, and the whole context, not only as a permanent request for alms for the Eastern Orthodox shrines and sending gifts from Russia, but as an important form of spiritual and mystical ties of Oriental and Russian Churches. In this regard, not only analyzes the information of political and ideological content, refl ected in the documents, but specially treated terminology, formulas and prayer treatment, bless wording, etc. Special consideration subject to the sacred gifts and gestures, which are also bilateral (shrines were brought from the East but also sent from Russia to the east), in particular in terms of these gifts is considered the «code» common Christian religion, a specifi c Eastern Patriarchate and the Russian special signifi cance. Analyzed in detail all the ambassadorial speeches and messages of Orthodox hierarchs, as well as the response letters and speeches of the Moscow tsars. The author, contrary to affi rmed the opinion, proves that the fi rst phase of the Troubles due to the Christian East is not interrupted and carried on a regular basis.
