In this article, I focus on Damascius’ treatise “On the first principles” and I discuss the fact that, though not explicitly, the beginning of this treatise is situated on the general frame of the first Platonic aporia of the one (from the dialogue “Parmenides”), which for the Neoplatonists is the aporia of the first principle. The discourse on the first principles develops this aporia, offering a specific solution, opening towards the Ineffable, Damascius’ first principle.

EU, NATO and US - but Russia too - are taking stock of Serbia’s new regime. It might be too early for them to judge the new government and the President of Republic. However, they are trying to determine their orientation and, especially, attitude towards Kosovo. Expectations are high considering that everybody sees Serbia as a country on the verge of economic collapse that, in addition, may or may not renew the arrangement with IMF. It is the intensively being developed sector of services, constituting 50% of GDP aiming mostly at foreign markets, which constitutes the root cause of the dynamic economic development of the country. India has been an invariably chosen place of outsourcing/offshoring for many years, which is supported by worldwide rankings, conducted, among others, by A.T. Kearney Consulting Agency. India has been gaining power over other countries due to the fact that it offers low costs of highly-qualified workers who speak English fluently. The development of the third sector has been focused on several categories of service up till now (IT services, business, communication, banking, hotels and restaurant services), and can boast high levels of growth also in other areas: legal services, transportation, insurance, services and those connected with real estate. Every organization would only be an idea, a dead concept if life was not breathed into it by giving it an action attribute. Franchising is a business and a development model of a company in the definition of which the word “system” plays a key role and what is more, this activity is more important in shaping the life of the system. To make the process of transition from a virtual concept into a living organism – an operating franchise network – happen, it is necessary to undertake the difficult challenge in the form of planning and making many decisions. Cognitive capabilities of a human as the subject of the decision are the main but not the only sources of rational choice constraints. Apart from these, there are also motivational and competence limitations, which apply only to the organizational and individual decisions. Creating such a system of incentives that would ensure full compliance of the interests of the decision-makers with the interests and objectives of the organization as a whole is more difficult than creating the motivation for the employees to make their utmost effort for the benefit of the organization out of their own will. An entrepreneur, after having made the decision to create a franchise concept and a franchise network based on that concept, has to consider the fact that the decision-makers about the future and the development of the brand will also include other network participants – other units managers (owners). For this reason, a special role in the franchise system is played by the phenomenon of the “empowerment” of people. One of the main tasks of the franchise concept originator is to develop competencies and the potential of its franchisees and other network staff.
