The most essential (for the Ukrainian linguostylistics) paradigms of investigation of belles-lettres style in its genre poetic aspect are specified. Factors of formation of scientific interest to some objects of analysis in this or that chronological period are indicated. Historical changeability and // or unchangeability of methods of investigation, which are applied to systemic and occasional linguopoetic phenomena, is depicted. Emphasis is placed on the postulate that methodology of investigation of any language phenomenon, including poetic language, should encourage searching for relevant notions as well as distinguishing objects of research and applicable methods.

В своей работе «Руководствуясь не буквою, а духом» член Национального союза писателей Украины, поэт, прозаик, публицист, переводчик, Олег Гончаренко, на основе рецензионных откликов на его книгу «За Эминеску… к себе», издательство «Люкс», Мелитополь, Украина, 2012 г., исследует оправданность и перспективность пременения перепевов (свободных авторизированных переводов), как основной литературной формы, относительно презентации литературного гения Михая Эминеску и поэтических произведений других молдавских и румынских авторов украинскому читателю. Литературная критика на эту книгу почёркивает, что автор перепевов, поставив перед собой сложную задачу сохранения в первую очередь поэтики, философии, энергетики переводимых оригиналов, смог в большинстве случаев добиться этого. Кроме того переводчику, при интерпритации, удалось равноценно адаптировать все 66 презентованых произведений Михая Эминеску и других молдавских и румынских поэтов под менталитет украинского читателя. Олег Гончаренко подчёркивает, что тем самым ему удалось подтвердить своё убеждение, что перепевы, не просто имеют право на существование, а, более того, как никакая иная литературная форма перевода, способны духовно сближать наши народы.

ВОЛОДИМИР ВИННИЧЕНКО І ВОЛЬТЕР: МУЖЕНСЬКІ “КАЗКИ” І ФРАНЦУЗЬКИЙ ПРОСВІТНИЦЬКИЙ ФІЛОСОФСЬКИЙ РОМАН ХVІІІ СТ.

The article considers the composition of cross-cultural processes, associated with the establishment of “French” novels of V. Vynnychenko on the background of the novel of the Enlightenment (Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau). The purpose of the article is to determine the leading aesthetic components and means of forming philosophical paradigms. The novelty and relevance of the study lies in the fact, that the focus is on the genesis and features of the philosophical and architecture of the “French” novels by Volodymyr Vynnychenko “Leprosy” and “Eternal Imperative” for the first time. Materials and methods. The article uses unique sources, in particular, V. Vynnychenko's diaries and texts of mentioned novels. The basic method, used in the article, is a comparative method, and it is also subject to the principles of anachronistic functional analysis, comparison of creative methods of the novel prose, written by the Ukrainian modernist Vynnychenko and French Enlightenment artists. Conclusions. The concept of philosophical nature of these modernist works is presented, which Vynnychenko clearly marks with a genre experiment, rooted in the philosophical prose of the Enlightenment (Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau). We are talking about the peculiarities of the philosophical manifestation in various forms: a philosophical tale, philosophical dialogue, philosophical novel, as well as the specifics of the realization of philosophical essence in the novel-dialogue, novel-controversy, novelapology. Particular attention is paid to such a genre experiment of Voltaire and Vynnychenko as a philosophical tale with such poetic features as allegory, parable, conventionality, exoticism. The critical optics of the research combines the historical and philosophical specifics of the Enlightenment, on which V. Vynnychenko's novels, the national identity of the writer and his biographical individuality are based.

The article is devoted to the investigation of peculiarities of functioning of evangelist topical imagery material in the 20th century Ukrainian literature. It is for the first time that in Ukrainian literary studies the most serious and reliable attempt to analyze socio-ideological, philosophical, moral psychological and literary aspects of the transformation of evangelist collisions in Ukrainian literature has been undertaken. The system of motivations of evangelist materials in the context of functioning of comprehensive cultural tendencies in Ukrainian literature has been, in particular, analyzed here. Much heed has been paid to the problem of specifying the forms and means of transformation of evangelist structures in Ukrainian literature taken into consideration some tragic processes of evolution in national spirituality. We also study some continuations, additions, processing, renderings and processes of apocryphalizing and philosophical aesthetic modeling in Ukrainian literature. The prevailing accent is concentrated upon the analysis of ontological axiological dominance in the images of Jesus Christ, Judas Iscariot, Pontius Pilate.

Fryderyk Chopin i Łesia Ukrainka. Per me

The key word of the essay is per me, as I present in it my own reminiscence from my childhood and youth, which was when I first came into contact with the works of two exceptional maestros: Frédéric Chopin and Lesya Ukrainka (the pen name of Larysa Kosach). Chopin created musical poetry, while Lesya – a rhythmic and melodic verbal poetry. The dialogue of the two authors sounds amazing, uncovering an optimistic apotheosis of survival and the trauma of loss – the states expressed in Chopin’s Marche funèbre and by Lesya Ukrainka in her poetry cycle devoted to this composition. The temporarily mature understanding of per me in both these creations also resulted from the trauma caused by the loss of close relatives (first, the grandad at a very young age) and hence became the drive for discovering the content of art and the means of expression characteristic to various branches of art.

Creating Social Reality by Soviet Children’s Publishing Companies in Ukraine in the 1920s and 1930s

The article deals with the influence of state ideology on children, as carried out through state control/supervision of book publishing. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the peculiarities of creating (a new) social reality by means of children’s literature in the 1920s and 1930s in Ukraine. The research material is a selection of publications of the Ukrainian specialised publishing houses Ditvydav and Molodyi Bilshovyk. The results of the analysis show that 46% of the books in the corpus contain the following keywords: revolution, civil war, Pioneers, Little Octobrists, Soviet holidays, Lenin, Stalin, collective farms, collectivisation, industrialisation, metallurgy, factory, mines, and so forth, that is, they contain an emphasised ideological component. Soviet society’s rejection of the national tradition, even in the face of the policy of Ukrainianisation, is also confirmed. The dominance of Russia and its representatives in comparison with other republics in the USSR and the limitations of gender roles in the constructed worldview are also demonstrated.

Nakon 24. veljače 2022., otkad je Rusija otpočela svoj sveobuhvatni rat protiv Ukrajine, Sergij i ja vidjeli smo se samo jednom. Naravno, bilo je to u Harkivu, njegovu gradu. Čemu ovo naravno? Danas, u vrijeme kada je Ukrajina postala područjem velikih preseljenja, to nije nimalo očito. Zašto je i nadalje ta međusobna povezanost čovjeka i prostora tako neizbježna: Žadan – Harkiv, Harkiv – Žadan? Kada govorimo o pjesniku kao što je Sergij Žadan, uvijek iznova fokusiramo se na pitanje gdje? i kada?, na tu neprestanu potrebu da pobliže utočnimo koordinate, da odredimo prostorni i vremenski kontekst. Da, Žadan je naše ovdje i sada, to je taj konkretan grad u kojem on živi i koji bi bez njega zasigurno opustio, to su zeleni trgovi i četvrti spavaonice, ispunjene konkretnim nazivima i naličjima, išarane visećim natpisima, ispresijecane apuštenim zemljištima, a istovremeno to je i apsolutno bilo gdje i bilo kada, možda tek s određenim posebnostima: ovdje je malo više ljubavi nego drugdje, i zasigurno više smrti.

Prva hrvatska pjesnička antologija, Prevedena u neovisnoj Ukrajini, bila je antoloija ratne lirike U ovom strašnom času. Hrvatski P.E.N. je odlučio objaviti antologiju ukrajinske poezije Ukrajina 2022.: pjesnički ljetopis rata. Ovo je svojevrsna pjesnička kronika, koja obuhvaća period od 24. Veljače do 24. kolovoza. 2022. i ispisana je glasovima boli i vjere. Ovom prigodom predstavljamo čitateljima Europskoga glasnika Izbor iz najnovijeg ukrajinskog pjesništva, nastalog u plamenu rata:33 pjesme 20 pjesnikinja i pjesnika.

Generacija “Ćera”: problem traumatičnog iskustva rata (na primeru romana Ćera Tamare Goriha Zernja)

The article offers for consideration a literary interpretation of the modern Russian-Ukrainian war using the example of Tamara Gorikha Zernya’s novel Dotsia. The main focus is on the problem of memory and the trauma of entire generations caught up in the war. The memory of generations serves as the main means of representing one’s own identity, which is reflected in various aspects. First of all, this is self awareness as a representative of a certain cultural group, national identity, as well as generational affiliation. The literary representation of trauma in Tamara Gorikha Zernya’s novel Dotsia is reflected through the consciousness of a person involved in the war. Primarily war is associated with a crisis of personal, collective, and national identities, which leads to the loss of any value orientations. The author of the article, synthesizing the work of trauma studies and memory studies in a methodological approach tries to trace how to (re)live the war, accept and overcome this traumatic experience, and resuscitate the national memory in the context of the dominance of post-Soviet and pro-Russian narratives, to find one’s national identity.

The article is dedicated to a very important problem of not only contemporary Ukraine but also whole Europe. The Russian-Ukrainian war that is still going on in Donbas gradually reveals its more and more dark sides. The study presents memoirs of Stanislav Asieiev who was the prisoner of so-called Donetsk Dachau – a concentration camp in the city, organized by occupation forces. The author of the article analyzes this traumatic experience in the context of the current war as well as in the context of history concentration camps such as GULAG, Nazi death camps and so on. In the center of the study there is an image of a broken individual and his efforts to re-find himself in the world without war while it is still going on in his mind and feelings.

Between Slavia Latina and Slavia Orthodoxa. The Discussion of Ihor Skochylyas with the Concept by Riccardo Picchio

Both scholars are no longer alive. Riccardo Picchio (1923–2011) and Ihor Skochylyas (1967–2020) did not know each other and they were almost two generations apart. Riccardo Picchio, Italian Slavist, created the concepts of Slavia Orthodoxa and Slavia Romana (Latina), which aroused discussion in the scientific world but also gave rise to considerable doubts. Anyway, he himself believed that conceptual schemas could not be of absolute value. Over the years of his work, Ihor Skochylyas argued with these concepts, believing that in fact we are dealing with the picture of the Slavic world consisting of three realms: Slavia Latina, Slavia Orthodoxa and Slavia Unita. He presented this approach in many publications, including his last work entitled “The latest discoveries of the Lviv historians in research on the Synod of Zamość” published in the conference materials “The legacy of the Synod of Zamość 1720–2020. Challenges and Prospects”, Kraków 2021.

Філософія поетичної мови Ліни Костенко

The article reveals the meaning of the concept “philosophy of Lina Kostenko’s language,” characterizes the features of individual style as a way of poet’s creative thinking. Lexical-semantic and textual analysis of the defining token “word” is carried out, its semantically attractive connections with the tokens “soul” and “thought” are revealed. Expressive means of transmitting a person’s preverbal emotional state have been recorded. The semantics of the concept of “time,” available in different linguistic and structural units of the text, is traced. Cognitive-linguistic, structural and linguistic analysis of Lina Kostenko’s aphorisms is a testimony to her creative innovation in the formation of aesthetic treasures of the Ukrainian literary word from the second half of the 20th to the beginning of the 21st century — a cultural code of the nation, which organically combines historical sources of language, connections with the Ukrainian classic poetic texts and reflection of modern life of the Ukrainian language.

Poeta wobec systemu. Duchowy świat poezji Liny Kostenko

This paper is devoted to the analysis of selected poems by Ukrainian poet Lina Kostenko in the context of the sphere of spirituality and numerous references to biblical themes. The conducted analysis allows us to conclude that the world of religion and human spirituality allowed the poet to show a clear contrast between humanistic values and the dehumanized and oppressive reality of the communist system. The writer, who remains a symbol of the Ukrainian generation of the 1960s, reminded us that more important than conformist submission to the apparatus of power is maintaining her own dignity and fidelity to the values she professes, even when it is necessary to pay a high price, which the ban on publishing her works must have been for her.
