Zjawisko morfologicznej adaptacji zapożyczeń w polskim języku mówionym w Wielkiej Brytanii

The paper presents the types of morphological adaptation characteristic of lexical borrowings in to the Polish language spoken in Great Britain. The author describes morphological transformations of nouns, adjectives and the derivation of verbs. With regard to the adaptation of nouns attention is paid to the ways of gender formation: inclusion of a word into the Polish paradigm with an appropriate phonetic ending, reliance on semantic equivalents, reciprocal influence of formal and semantic factors leading to combined gender formation, and addition of form-creating morpheme (gender exponent), as well as occurrence of disintegral derivation.

Znaczenie dialektologii w badaniach z zakresu zoonimii

The paper points to the particularly close connection between individual dialectal systems and zoonymy. Its author shows these connections to be of both structural-phonological and semantic nature. Hence zoonymy should be studied against the background of the systemic conditions of particular dialects with regard to methods used in dialectology. The applicability and the role of dialectology, in the study of folk zoonymy is shown on the example of 4 villages in the area of Tomaszów Mazowiecki: Podhorce, Justynówka, Przecinka and Górno. From the point of view of dialectal systems the villages belong to the so-called "Newer Eastern Pronrtier". The zoonymic system of the studied dialects - especially the names of cows and horses - is represented (among others) by the following features: a) the predominance of primary names of the type Krasa, Kasztan over secondary names of the type Krasula, Karuś b) the occurrence of the formative -uJa solely in the zoonymic function; с ) the occurrence in the zoonymic function of the formtiye -olall-’ola (unknown in central Poland) in names of cows of the type iukola, d. a relatively common occurrence of proper personal names of the type Baśka, Wojtek in the zoonymic function.

Nazwy terenowe typu Pod Górą, Za lasem na Lubelszczyźnie

The origin and functions of the names of the type Pod Górą, and Za Lasem have been examined on the basis of 598 locality names collected in 97 places of the Lublin area. The author aimed at examining their syntactic uses in the colloquial speech of its inhabitants. The single catchword entries were derived from rich sets of synonyms obtained from answers to questions: Where? Where from? Where to? Genetically names of this type are regarded to be independent adverbs of place or independent adverbial attributes. Of some interest are also cases of multidirectional inflectional derivation, the pluralization and singularization of names as well as the diversity of the constituent prepositions.

Ze słownictwa polskich zaimków gwarowych. Zaimki przeczące: nikt, nic, żaden i ich gwarowe odpowiedniki

The paper deals with the structure of negative pronouns. It asserts a structural uniformity of this semantic category of pronouns which are formed by adding a prefix ni- to a respective interrogative pronoun. The uniformity is broken by the word żaden and it is preserved only in certain Little- -Polish dialects where there exists the word nijaki. I n the author's view there is an agreement between the Western Polish dialects and the literary language with regard to the stucture of negative pronouns. Contrary to the generally accepted opinion the confusion of nie- and ni- and the consequent loss of semantic clarity of these formants can already betraced in Old Polish.

Z elementów interdialektalnych w polskich pieśniach ludowych: końcówka -owie

The paper is a study of certain song uses of nom. pi. in - owie. The author’s research results prove that variant uses of particular endings in nom. pl. of masculine nouns in Polish folk songs are not accidental. The occurrence of forms in —owie is very often semantically conditioned. The song contexts point to a considerable increase in Usability of the presented type of forms. In regard to the dialectal background it appears that both the territorial limits and the rigorous grammatical ivies are easily transgressed The ending in - owie , a frequent element of Polish folk songs clearly puts the folk language in opposition to the collequial country speech. In the definite majority of cases -owie in noun inflection meets the requirements of the poetic function and hence it should be treated as an element of artistic language. A comparison of recent dats with the analogous material from the 19th century (collected by O. Kolberg) shows that the number of fortes containing - owie is decreasing. Considering that examples, of the use of nom. pl. with other endings become more and more frequent the discussed phenomenon may be regarded as conservative and in many cases even archaic in nature.

Liczebniki dwoje, oboje/obydwoje, troje w polskim języku literackim i w dialektach

The paper discusses the tern "régionalism" with, respect to the requrements of a dictionary definition on the basis of selected 17th century texts. The alleged rrgionalisms have been extracted from the City of Lublin Book of Villains and compared with the results of research of Burger Books from Kazimierz- upon-Vistula, Grabowiec near Zamość, Puchaczów, łączna and Hrubieszów as well as from Gdansk, Chela, Piotrków Trybunalski, Przemyśl and Tarnowskie Góry. It appears that it is possible to compare over 15 phonetic and inflection features observed in all studied localities. This fact allows for an assumption that they are not regionalisms but systemic variants and characteristic features of speech (colloquialisms) different from the canon of written and printed 17th century forms.

Městská mluva ostravská

Mowa miejska Ostrawy (HMD) ma charakter złożony. Funkcjonuje w niej szereg różnych systemów językowych (miejscowy dialekt laski, potoczna mowa laska, potoczna odmiana mówiona jeżyka czeskiego, odmiana mówiona czeskiego jeżyka literackiego) zróżnicowanych dialektalnie, profesjonalnie, slangowo, argotycznie, pokoleniowo, psychicznie i stylowo. Na tle współczesnej czeskiej sytuacji językowej jest więc to otwarty i złożony socjalny twór językowy. Mową tą posługuje sie w codziennej praktyce językowej ludność tworząca niehomogeniczna społeczność nowoczesnego miasta przemysłowego, leżącego w pobliżu czesko-polskiej granicy państwowej. Opis tej mowy pomaga objaśnić nie tylko tendencje rozwojowe czeskiego języka narodowego na pograniczu czesko-polskim, ale także kontakty tego języka z polszczyzną, zwłaszcza tą, które posługuje sie mieszkańcy górnośleskiego okręgu przemysłowego w PRL.

Nominalkomposita im Deutschen als Ausdruck des engen Verhältnisses zwischen Syntax und Wortbildung

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie związku pomiędzy składnię a słowotwórstwem na przykładzie złożeń nominalnych języka niemieckiego. Po krótkiej analizie literatury, dotyczącej syntaktycznego opisu złożeń nominalnych w języku niemieckim, autor wskazuje na istnienie dwóch możliwości opisu stosunków zależnościowych między członami złożeń: 1 ) za pomocą tzw. "Sacheteuerung” (znajomości rzeczy)i 2) za pomocy analizy transformacyjnej. W procesie określenia stosunków zależnościowych występujących między członami złożeń rozróżnia się następujące rodzaje transformacji: I) bez dodatkowych elementów leksykalnych: 1 ) transformację dopełniaczową, 2) transformację przyinkową, 3) transformację przymiotnikową, 4) transformację apozycyjną, 5) transformację z bezokolicznikiem z "zu" II) z dodaniem dodatkowych elementów leksykalnych: 1) transformację przez rozszerzenie, 2 ) transformację ze zdaniem pobocznym, 3) transformację przez porównanie. Przedstawiona analiza pozwala na stwierdzenie, te złożenie nominalne w języku niemieckim jest wyrazem ścisłego związku pomiędzy składnię a słowotwórstwem.
