Purpose – This article demonstrates the importance of emotional, social, and cognitive user experience in the ethnographic interview and cosmetic industry. Understanding the stories, expectations and disappointments of the users deeply will enable cosmetic shops changes from the product of the store to the aisle layout, from human resources to colors in design-customer relations-experiential environment. Design/methodology/approach – The ethnographic interview is research done through user’s experiences. Particular efforts are made to capture emotional and cognitive experiences. A case on this process has been demonstrated through cosmetic chain brand stores in Turkey. Participants in the ethnographic interview have previously shopped with all three groups of brands. Findings – Among the chain shops, there are three categories in terms of user experience: exciting, where I find what I am looking for, and just stopped by. In the exciting experience, the chain shop offers plenty of discounts for women on special days such as anniversaries or with occasional surprises. The perception of product quality and care for the user is magnificent. When I find what I am looking for, it provides the quality and service that I expect for my daily cosmetic needs with a good standard. In just stopped by, the user enters the shop with the thought of checking here. The perception of product and service quality is low. There is no encouraging environment to take. Discussion – From the women’ point of view, being cared and feeling comfortable in the cosmetics industry are important emotions in communication with the brand.

Purpose – In this study, it is aimed to perform an empirical evaluation of the accounting values that Gray put forward theoretically, such as professionalism, uniformity, conservatism and confidentiality. It is thought that the study will contribute to the related article since there is no empirical evaluation of the Hofstede-Gray model in the Turkish literature. Design/methodology/approach – In the study, Certified Public Accountants (CPA) operating in Aksaray province were determined as the population and a questionnaire was applied to 108 professional accountants operating in Aksaray. In the analysis of the obtained data, descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were performed. Findings – The findings show that Gray's accounting values model is partially supported, but the conservative value was loaded on two separate factors as "conservative in terms of disclosure" and "conservative in terms of valuation / measurement". Discussion – Since the total variance value of the scale used in the study is 64.582%, it can be mentioned that there are other accounting values that have not been defined yet. In this context, it will be possible to define other undefined accounting values with the data collection technique prepared experimentally instead of the theoretical basis.

The validity, reliability, and confirmatory factor analyzes were carried out on the obtained data by using the SmartPLS Structural Equation Model (SEM) package program. The path analysis was performed for hypothesis testing, and the findings were interpreted. Findings - As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the Quality as Corporate Values affects the Task Performance directly and the Collaboration through Person-Organization-Fit. While Corporate Values explain 57% of the change in Person-Organization-Fit, it has been revealed that Quality, Participation, and Collaboration have a positive and significant effect on the Person-Organization-Fit. Discussion – This study showed that to increase Person-Organization-Fit, organizations should encourage teamwork and team spirit, create collaborative and quality-oriented work environments where employees are involved in decision-making processes as much as possible, instead of creating working environments where individuality is emphasized, and employees compete as competitors of each other on the basis of individual performance. The importance and vitality of the Person-Organization-Fit can be better understood by considering the impact of it, not only on the employee’s task performance but also on other organizational variables and outputs, such as Organizational Citizenship Behavior.

In this article, we examine Mai ve Siyah by Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil, one of the prominent figures in modern Turkish literature, within the framework of the concept of psychomythology. In this context, we aim to demonstrate that an evaluation of Mai ve Siyah, considered by many researchers as one of Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s “most important works,” from a psychomythological perspective can reveal the consciousness of both the author and the characters he has constructed. This approach also allows for a deeper understanding of the author’s underlying messages and the complexities of the characters. Throughout this process, we focused on the Icarus complex and conducted a text-centered analysis. The concept of psychomythology plays a functional role in achieving this objective. Psychomythology, which arises from the integration of mythology and psychology, involves the psychodynamic interpretation of mythological stories, tales, or narratives. Additionally, psychomythology examines the effects and reflections of mythological stories, symbols, and figures on human psychology. It is observed that psychomythology holds significant value for analyzing the consciousness of fictional characters. In this article, we have found that the death of Ahmet Cemil’s father; his effort to navigate life independently as an autonomous individual after his childhood; his desire to ascend to the “heights of life” through ambitions such as becoming a renowned poet and reuniting with his beloved; his tragic downfall due to life’s realities and societal rules; his gradual loss of all possessions; and his metaphorical death are consistent with the Icarus complex. Consequently, we concluded that the deep structure of the novel Mai ve Siyah exhibits a significant psychomythological relationship with the Icarus complex. Furthermore, we have demonstrated that Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil embeds within the subtext of the novel the notion of the necessity of acting in accordance with the laws of life through rational thought, akin to the Stoic interpretation of the Icarus complex.
