Youtuberství jako konstrukce, destrukce a reparace soukromí

The study focuses on privacy in online social networks. It presents an empirical analysis of youtubers, a group that has not yet been studied in the Czech social sciences. Using interpretive phenomenological analysis and in-depth interviews, we show that there is a typical ‘career’ trajectory that youtubers proceed along, whose structure is determined by experiences of breach of privacy and by mechanisms of reparation. These mechanisms and practices must be employed in order to resolve a fundamental tension between the demand for self-disclosure, arising out of confessional culture and the ideology of authenticity, and the parallel demand for retaining privacy. Breach of privacy is conceptualised as a violation of the equilibrium of its three constitutive elements: content, border, and context. Such situations are experienced as threats to the identity of the youtubers, who seek to avoid these threats by means of reparation practices, changes in how they perform privacy, and the use of what we call tools of controlled (in)accessibility. Unlike normative critiques that lament the loss of privacy on social networks, this article concludes that youtubers are highly competent guardians of their own performed privacy.

The integration of Digital Competences into the Primary Education Curriculum

The imminent digitalisation of education in Romania is described and announced by the "Strategy on the digitalisation of education in Romania" (document in public consultation). This will bring a number of updates to primary education but, to analyze this transition, this paper sets out why the focus on digital education is needed, what will be left behind by the future update in the primary education curriculum and the prospects for updating it. The analysis of the actual curriculum indicates that only two of the competences specific to all subjects in primary education tangentially support the development of digital competence. This analysis was carried out under the common terminology used in definitions of digital competence extracted from European education policies as well as common reference tools at European and national level. For a more accurate correlation of the curricular projection with the targeted key competence were analyzed, based on the same terminology, even the learning activities suggested by school curricula, finding a low proportion of integration of digital competences in teaching. Therefore, tomorrow's school projections viewed through the "Strategy on the digitalisation of education in Romania", in relation to the data of this paper, are welcome.

The Matter at Hand: A Practice-Theoretical Model of Digital Gaming

Investigations into the nature of the activity of gaming have been made difficult by virtue of the plurality of possible forms this activity may take. In this paper, I address this problem by examining (digital) gaming under the heading of practice theory, in an attempt to shed more light on the practical aspects of ludic literacy. Building on the theoretical and conceptual frameworks of Pierre Bourdieu, I present a general model of digital gaming as a form of situated human practice, followed by details of a case study, conducted in order to test and adjust the initial version of the model. Though further research with a greater population of players is needed in order to expand the scope of the model, the findings of the study lend credence to its validity as a conceptual framework for delineating and framing different practices generated by digital game artefacts.

O immersyjności escape roomów. Przykład pokoi Tick Tack w Gliwicach

Escape room (ER) is a live cooperative game in which players need to find a way out of a closed room, or to reach an additional goal by solving a series of riddles and puzzles, in a set amount of time. So far there have been few publications on ERs, particularly in Polish game studies. This paper is an attempt at filling this gap. The history of ERs is described briefly, and the claim is made that the reason for the success and popularity of selected ERs is their immersivity. The rooms of the company Tick Tack, which is located in Gliwice, are used as examples to discuss the topic of ER immersivity and the conditions that a room should meet to engage players fully. The analysis is based on relevant literature and on the author’s own experiences with ERs.

Ensuring legal security, a primary condition of the rule of law, is nowadays enhanced by the dynamics and complexity of the impact of cyberspace. Although in general, when discussing cyber threats, the issue is approached from the perspective of attacks on network systems and information systems, complex cyber threats can also be generated by the legal system. The collection and processing of personal data is carried out through a process we call Big data, which ensures the conversion of everyday life into a data stream. The result is a new way of social life, based on continuous follow-up and offering unprecedented opportunities for social discrimination and behavioral influence. With this approach we are trying to submit to the debate the guarantee of a climate of stability created by the legal system in the context of cyber threats.

The aim of this study is to compare the changes in the definitions of digital and technological literacy in the historical process, to examine the characteristics defined for digital and technologically literate individuals in terms of similarities and differences, and to reveal the similarities and differences of these literacies in the context of their scope. The qualitative research method was adopted and document analysis was conducted. In addition to the concepts of ''technological literacy'' and ''digital literacy''; the concepts ''computer literacy'' and ''information and communication technologies literacy'' are presented as keywords. As a result, 35 studies that need to be examined were determined. First, there is confusion in terms of digital and technological literacy by being used interchangeably. Second, the characteristics described for these literate individuals have differences as well as similarities. Finally, digital and technological literacy are intertwined and it is not possible to separate them with certain lines.

Internet methodology - difficulties and opportunities offered by the Internet in conducting research. Analysis of the phenomenon in the light of the literature on the subject

Aim. A theoretical review of the opportunities and functions of the application enabling the creation of internet surveys. Assessment of their use in accordance with own opinion and the analysis of the literature on the subject. Methods. Analysis of the literature on the subject and a summary of the description of the survey conducted on the basis of a questionnaire examining the interesting phenomenon of e-methodology and an opinion on distance learning. The authors analysed the advantages and disadvantages of the tools used in online research. The aforementioned experiences of the researchers refer to the experience gained during research on e-methodology. Results and conclusion. The interest in this medium as a tool for social and psychological research has been growing rapidly in the last ten years. The very rapid development of technology that has taken place during the COVID-19 pandemic allowed us to easily conduct a research survey using the network, which can easily replace any labour-intensive data collection through inquiry. In addition, many different tools and techniques have been created that use the so-called “Global spider web” in conducting my own research. The researcher abandons direct contact with the respondent and devotes himself to the analysis of the phenomenon that interests him by analysing the given Internet environment, social groups that express themselves on a given topic or share their work on specifi c problems. However, the global network is not only a chance for good, innovative approach to research, but also threats and related difficulties. One of the most important weaknesses of the network is the fact that we can never be sure who is on the other end of the computer. Cognitive value. Presentation of new ways of conducting scientific research via the network, presenting my own analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the e-methodology phenomenon. Analysing the phenomenon of internet methodology, we learn that the tendency to participate in internet research is increasing. However, motivation to participate in internet research is not always sufficient, as mentioned by many researchers. There are many ways to infl uence the attractiveness of the research and the motivation to participate in the research. Thanks to this article, we also learn that it is still necessary to conduct further methodological research on increasing the effectiveness of Internet research and minimising errors associated with it. The issues presented in this article reflect the current methodological knowledge. We can predict that as the Internet grows and new technical opportunities emerge - such as video-enabled applications, among others - new methodological issues will arise that may be of interest to researchers.

E-contact tracing of hospital infections – validation of SIRSZ automatic risk assessment

Aim. Contact networks play a crucial role in infectious disease propagation and position in the network mediate risk of acquiring or sending infections. We studied the spread of hospital-associated infections through computer simulations and validated our ‘computer assisted’ risk assessment with ‘human’ risk assessment in a prospective study.Concept. We collected time-varying structure of contacts and covariates reconstructed from Polish Hospitals:1. The organisational structure is mapped by a set of questionnaires, CAD maps integration, functional paths annotation and local vision. It is done mostly by surveys within medical staff through an interactive web application.2. The Cohabitation layer processes data from the registry of patient admissions and discharges from each hospital unit (wards, clinics, etc.) and medical shift register. With simulated infection paths, we were able to compute network centrality measures for patients. We obtained the risk of getting infected, based on the patient’s incoming connections, and the risk of spreading infections resulting from outgoing connections. We compare various standard centrality measures – position of patients and staff in contact networks (‘computer assisted’ risk assessment) of both contacts and paths networks, with a predictor of ‘human’ risk perception (based on 190 patients).Results. We showed that the best predictor of HAI risk is Adjusted Rage Rank on paths (r= 0.42, p < 0.01). However, surprisingly good predictive power in risk assessment was found in the betweenness centrality of the underlying network of contacts (r = 0.30, p < 0.01).Conclusion: We conclude that epidemiology of a given pathogen in a given place and time could be explained only with the contact network only to a large extent. However, further possibility of the collection, processing and storage of the data on individual persons, translated to mathematical modelling could lead in future to satisfactory improvement in risk assessment.

Modelling COVID-19 Hotspot Using Bipartite Network Approach

COVID-19 causes a jarring impact on the livelihoods of people in Malaysia and globally. To prevent an outbreak in the community, identifying the likely sources of infection (hotspots) of COVID-19 is important. The goal of this study is to formulate a bipartite network model of COVID-19 transmissions by incorporating patient mobility data to address the assumption on population homogeneity made in the conventional models and focus on indirect transmission. Two types of nodes – human and location – are the main concern in the research scenario. 21 location nodes and 31 human nodes are identified from a patient’s pre-processed mobility data. The parameters used in this study for location node and human node quantifications are the ventilation rate of a location and the environmental properties of the location that affect the stability of the virus such as temperature and relative humidity. The summation rule is applied to quantify all nodes in the network and the link weight between the human node and the location node. The ranking of location and human nodes in this network is computed using a web search algorithm. This model is considered verified as the error obtained from the comparison made between the benchmark model and the COVID-19 bipartite network model is small. As a result, the higher ranking of the location is denoted as a hotspot in this study, and for a human node attached to this node will be ranked higher in the human node ranking. Consequently, the hotspot has a higher risk of transmission compared to other locations. These findings are proposed to provide a framework for public health authorities to identify the sources of infection and high-risk groups of people in the COVID-19 cases to control the transmission at the initial stage.

The results of the previous researches are not unambiguous. Various authors report on different directions of significant effects, while in some studies effects did not manifest. The interaction between devices and web-forms is also considered, but studies that explore that issue are almost non-existent. The review is concluded with the guidelines for future research.

The Difficulties in Social Communication of Elderly People in Romania

Communication in social processes means that all the social phenomenon also imply a social communication process, whether it is about a relationship, interaction, exchange, exerting power, control or influence by the communities, by groups, by structures, or by social functions. In our case, the elderly are a social category very vulnerable people with many social communication problems. The social communication disorder can result in many problems for elderly people, including difficulty participating in social settings. Social structures are stabilized interactions, in which communication processes intercede directly and sometimes decisively, formatively or destructively; as such, you can say that communication is a cultural and socio-communicational ensemble (Stoica-Marcu 2013, 128). The social communication difficulty includes difficulty in interacting with family, friends other people around them and social isolation in the different moments of social necessity.

Internet kao bračni posrednik: novi obrasci uspostavljanja emotivnih i bračnih veza u XXI veku

The basic assumption of this paper is that the Internet has taken on a “matchmaking role” in creating emotional and marital relationships that are deter¬minated with matching algorithms on the one hand, and virtual dating on the other. Therefore, our goal is to examine the basic social factors that contributed to the Internet’s role in this regard. Accordingly, we will consider the potential consequences of such a transformation. First, we will analyze broader social processes that lead to the extraction of people from primary and direct relationships and to their re-rooting with the help of technological intermediaries. In this way, new communities based on the network principle are re-created, with the consequences of the building of friendly and emotional relationships. A revolutionary change of Internet technology is the possibility of making close connections with people who did not know each other before. In this regard, we will analyze the circumstances that led to the sphere of intimate relations becoming the most technologically mediated social sphere in the 21st century, because the Internet has become an irreplaceable, possible sovereign middleman of love affairs. The conclusion is that algorithms, not the “game of fate”, will determine who will produce offspring with whom, in the future.

PLAYFUL AND SOCIAL INTERACTION IN PHYSICAL GAME: A QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE STUDY OF REAL-LIFE ESCAPE ROOM

This study investigated the player experience, playful design factors, and player behaviors of real-life escape room games. A questionnaire survey, group interviews, and behavioral observation were conducted to gather players’ demographic information, game experience, social presence, game behaviors, and social interactions while playing a reallife escape room game. Results indicate that a player’s background and the theme of the escape room affect game performance and game experience. The playful design factors are sorted into five categories: story, clue, puzzle, mechanism, and interior design. The player behaviors include individual and team behaviors: searching, thinking, monitoring, physical activity, communication, information sharing, decision making, and cooperation.

The purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of the development of information and analytical activities in the process of society digital development. Research methodology is based on the application of logical, chronological, systemic-and-structural, and comparative methods (to generalise theoretical and methodological principles, as well as the analysis of innovative approaches to information-analytical activity in modern trends of information society); the method of cognitive analysis (to distinguish the basic characteristics of information society and identify the principles of information and analytical activities); and method of deduction and theoretical generalisation (to specify research findings). Scientific novelty. Information and analytical activities in the information society was studied; the essence of the concepts ‘information’ and ‘analytics’ has been clarified; trends in the development of information and analytical activities at the current stage have been revealed. Conclusions. In accordance with the development trends of modern society, the main goal of information and analytical activities at the beginning of the third decade of the XXI century is obtaining not information as such, but socially and culturally significant information, characterised by a high level of reliability, relevance, and quality. Therefore, the development of information and analytical activities based on the selection and arrangement of information is directly related to its pragmatic meaning, that is, the possibility of reasonable use at this stage of the evolution of public space, in accordance with the specifics of the situation and the level of knowledge. The creative, experimental beginning of information and analytical activity at the current stage promotes the use of branch analytical approaches in various fields. Accordingly, the development of industry information analytics becomes important, which generates specific approaches, methods, and techniques that have an applied socially significant effect.

The main goal of this text is to take a closer look at the possibility of an intelligent machine having rights. First of all, we will consider the value of the three kinds of justifications for these rights. As for the justification of the rights of Artificial Intelligence referring to some correlation with human imperfect duties and that which is based on the status of moral objects in relations with people, we consider them unconvincing. It seems most accurate to justify the possession of rights by such machines that would fulfill the conditions of being an artificial person, a moral subject. However, the latter option is not free from the numerous difficulties that we bring to your attention.
