The significance of the category of social movements in the processes of revitalization in local communities constitutes the subject of the presented analysis. Social movement was demonstrated as a structure based on categories such as social ties, social network, identification and emancipatory potential. By referring to Ulrich Beck’s theory, social movement was indicated as a derivative of social capital. Reference was made to the classic for social pedagogy concept – the concept of social forces, as well as to selected elements of the theory of activity and social activation and the theory of empowerment.

Mládež ve fotografiích v Mladém světě 1960–1990

The topic of my research focuses on representations of youth in press photographs (1960–1990). It is a critical approach to visual communication in late socialism in Czechoslovakia. Particularly the study focuses on photographs in Mladý svět Magazine (Young World), published by the Union of Socialist Youth, which was first released in 1959 and became the most popular magazine for youth in the examined period. The aim of this study is to find the strategy of visual representation of youth and its transformation during the period. Two methods of visual analysis are applied in the methodological part: quantitative content analysis of photographs and social semiotic analysis of photographs.

Czerpiąc z doświadczeń z pracy w komisjach akredytacyjnych (PKA, NEASC, SKCV) oraz w uczelniach wyższych publicznych i niepublicznych, mogę zwrócić uwagę na fakt, że dystans pomiędzy renomowanymi, światowymi uniwersytetami a dobrymi, polskimi szkołami wyższymi zmniejsza się. Podkreślam, że dotyczy to „dobrych uczelni”, i to zarówno tych publicznych, jak i niepublicznych. Wyraźnie poprawia się stopień umiędzynarodowienia polskich uczelni, który jeszcze jest niewystarczający, zarówno w sferze badawczej, jak i edukacyjnej. Rozwijane i doskonalone są systemy jakości zarządzania i nowoczesne metody edukacyjne (takie jak e-learning, distance learning, mooc itp.). Wiele uczelni stworzyło dobre warunki rozwoju naukowego dla pracowników oraz dobre zaplecze i system kształcenia studentów. Wdrożenie KRK i postęp w procesie bolońskim wzmocniły autonomię uczelni, dając większą swobodę tworzenia programów, choć jednocześnie zwiększyły biurokratyzację procesu edukacyjnego.

Siedząc za biurkiem, łatwo snuć projekty „dobrego Uniwersytetu”. Piszę wielką literą, ponieważ jako idea jest on czymś jedynym i niepowtarzalnym, jest to zatem nazwa własna. Łatwo też narzekać na to, co nam przeszkadza, irytuje, bądź rzuca się w oczy jako bezsensowne. Łatwo wreszcie popaść w coś, co można określić mianem „krytyki kultury”, tj. w coś, co w gruncie rzeczy jest wyrafinowaną formą narzekania na czasy, w których żyjemy.

Biadania nad kondycją polskich uniwersytetów słychać z różnych stron w ostatnim czasie niemal bezustannie. Ich ton jest zróżnicowany: od chłodnych analiz, do wypowiedzi bardzo emocjonalnych. Wydaje się, iż świat naukowy wpada tu w swoistą kulturową pułapkę: aby być usłyszanym, trzeba wypowiadać się coraz ostrzej i bardziej ekspresyjnie, ale daremność tych wypowiedzi; głuchota na nie naszych ministrów pogłębiają frustrację, więc pojawiają się kolejne, jeszcze mocniejsze teksty, z których równie mało wynika, co z poprzednich. Tym bardziej, iż z najodważniejszymi nawet diagnozami nie idą w parze sensowne działania naprawcze, a przynajmniej przerwanie psucia uczelni i ludzi z nimi związanych. Co gorsza, ci którzy narzekają i/lub diagnozują kryzysy i upadki zarazem często się do nich przyczyniają, albowiem sami nie respektują reguł, których przestrzegania wymagają od innych. Tworzy się w ten sposób zaklęte i przeklęte koło Hioba, z którego trudno się wyzwolić.

Idea łączenia badań i dydaktyki była realizowana na dwa sposoby: poprzez charakter zajęć – głównie monograficznych – oraz poprzez udział, a raczej pomoc w badaniach prowadzonych w Katedrze.

Murales Bolognese: Visual Representation of Italian Urban Culture

The city of Bologna (Italy) is mainly known for the rich and well-preserved history, the left-wing political opinions of its inhabitants and for the one of the lowest child birth rates in a European city. These aspects, combined with the fact that the city has the largest university in Europe in terms of number of students,shapes the local urban culture in a particular way. This paper investigates the visual manner in which some inhabitants of Bologna, collectively known as “graffers”, express themselves in an attempt to identify the characteristics of their public voice. Such expression is often in contradiction with the way in which the town officials wish to promote a certain image of Bologna based on historical tradition. The methods of visual sociology are used to analyse the graffiti in terms of locations and content, in an attempt to explain the process of socialisation in a stable and prosperous society.

Burada onun doğum gününün hicri-qəməri tarixinin 609-cu ildə olduğu qeyd edilir. İstanbul universitetinin müəllimi və dövrümüzün məşhur mövləvişünası, mərhum Əbdülbaqi Gölpinarlı Şəmsin divanından bir beyti və “Fihi ma fih” kitabını oxuyaraq, Mövlananın doğum gününün yuxarıda qeyd olunan tarixdən 24 il əvvəl olduğu nəticəsinə gəlmişdir. Digər tədqiqatçılar da onun fikirləri ilə razılaşmışlar. Ortaya çıxan araşdırma və dəlillərə əsasən, bu fikir həqiqətə uyğun deyil və Mövlananın doğum tarixi ta qədimdən bu günə qədər hamının eşidərək qəbul etdiyi gündür.

Authenticity of the Derivative

This text identifies different segments of musical identity, meaning, and socio-cultural value of compositional works influenced by oral tradition of the Balkans. Through detailing some of the elements of the oral culture that have had a great influence on the author as a composer and a performer, it also discusses some observations on the ways in which the Balkan oral tradition and its derivations are perceived in the region today. Through discussing other artists with a similar approach to oral tradition, this text also explores the problems of constructing artistic identity and the meaning of a creative practice in relation to the socio-cultural environment of its origin. Sociocultural environments are established through exploring the writings of the authors who depict the spheres of history, culture and music in the Balkans.

EDUCATIONAL EMPLOYEES’ PERCEPTIONS REGARDING CHANGES IN EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

The purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions of educational employees regarding change with regards to various variables. The study was carried out with a qualitative design. An interview form compatible with the study aims was created and content and face validity of the form was determined by consulting with expert opinion. Research findings suggest that change is required in schools and that changes should begin with upper management. In addition, because of a lack of information in educational organizations and because employees were not motivated by their managers regarding change, a resistance against change was detected. When viewed from this perspective, in order to cope with this resistance and promote change successfully, employees are required to agree with the decision by way of making an effective plan.

My paper is focusing on the analysis and predictions that some famous experts offer concerning the dramatic changes in the future organizational culture, given the complex transformations in our economies, societies, and in our civilization in general. Two areas – education and leadership – seem to play an important role in improving or even in maintaining organizations on a normal scale of functioning. Both could be reinvented by creativity. But creativity, as it is treated in present educational institutions, seems to be each person’s interior “promised land”, which is buried deep inside. The revolution of creativity that Sir Ken Robinson suggests, starting from education and imprinting business sectors as well as other cultural sectors, seems a possible solution. In this spirit, I will evoke other authors with similar visionary suggestions.

For Education to Change, Few Things Can Remain the Same

ICT and Digital Natives are revolutionizing societies and ways of living. So far, schools and teachers do not seem to have completely taken these changes into account. This paper explores the latest trends in ICT in education and aims to understand how Digital Natives think, learn, work and live, so that educational agents can provide better and more structured solutions.In the first part, we analyze ICT near and medium-trends in what education is concerned and summarize its possible consequences to schools and teachers. The second half is dedicated to the generation born in 1980, called Millenials or Digital Natives, and tries to summarize the possible impact in schools as a result of their ways of living and dealing with information. We end with a list of suggestions for educational agents.

On the one hand, mentoring is a form of support for the professional development of the organization’s employees. On the other hand, it can be seen as a way to exploit the potential of the elderly. This idea corresponds to the goals of crowdsourcing, as a means of supporting the ‘crowd’ in solving problems. Older people in this situation are a group that has unmistakable counseling potential that can be used in the form of mentoring in crowdsourcing.

A camera never told the truth: An exploration of objectivity in photojournalism

Several cases have surfaced in the past two decades where the photojournalists associated with some of the most respected and trusted news organizations have been accused of altering the news photos. During the same time, the developments in the digital cameras and editing software have put the image altering technology into the hands of all practicing journalists and journalism students. This paper explores two, somewhat connected, issues: objectivity in photojournalism and ethics of altering photographic images. The paper discusses objectivity in journalism in general and photojournalism to address the question: Can a photojournalist use a camera to record reality in an objective manner? Since the photographers have altered (retouched) images from the very beginning of photography, where are the ethical boundaries of image alteration for the photojournalists?

The article attempts to identify key elements of the concept of trust, such as accepting vulnerability for loss, generalized norm of reciprocity, positive conviction towards the trustee's intentions and credibility of the trustee. The results of analyzes of publicly available data were also presented, which indicate that Poles have a very low level of trust in other people and public institutions. The article also draws attention to the importance of trust for contemporary societies, which according to the analyzes of existing data are strongly related to many key indicators of quality of life, such as a sense of happiness or satisfaction with public life.
