Nowadays, harmonic and clean environment is not only the ideal for recreation, but also becomes one of the components of the desired standard of living. From this perspective, it might be generally assumed that with increasing levels of environmental pollution will increase motivation of inhabitants to leave the affected areas and move to areas with more favorable environmental status.

Critical animal studies represent an autonomous interdisciplinary field which aims to explore human–animal relations through a combination of activism and scientific consideration. The uniqueness of this approach lies in exactly this treatment of the animal issue which is, at the same time, political and critical and is based primarily in the effort to denaturalize the oppression and violence committed against animals and to disprove fundamental conceptions of human–animal relations which have produced harmful deterministic dualisms in understanding the natural world, such as anthropocentrism and cartesianism. In their study of structural and social preconditions for inequality and oppression, approaches like critical animal studies, feminism, ecofeminism, environmentalism, racial and gender studies, (…) encounter many points of convergence from which to oppose the dominant discourse that produces otherness, at the same time complementing, reinforcing and building on each other in recognition of the universal character of their respective basic principles and the need for a more holistic approach which would enable these fields of study to transcend their individual limitations and blend into a single entity with a shared purpose and responsibility. This paper analyses the symbiotic connection between critical animal studies and ecofeminism and indicates to the potential of academic anarchism as a tool which opens up a space for discussion and recognition of the interdependence of animal, human and ecological issues as a response to the acute global ecological and human crisis.

A Polish-Romanian perspective on how planning influences the dynamics of urban green infrastructure

The importance of studying urban green infrastructure in planning is justified by its ecosystem services, contributing to the welfare of urban dwellers and urban sustainability. The present study uses an ecological approach to analyze the dynamics of urban green infrastructure in Polish and Romanian cities with Urban Atlas data in 2006, 2012 and 2018. To avoid ecological fallacy, the methodology includes analyses of individual cases studies. Findings show that urban green infrastructure corresponds to the four city nature types. All cities have lost or transformed their green infrastructure, with local variations. Natural and/or agricultural green spaces make up most of the green infrastructure, while landscaped areas constitute a small share, and are prominent in large, populous, and dense cities. The loss is proportional to the share of categories. Analyses of individual examples show that the involvement of environmental aware citizens is essential for planning a healthy green infrastructure. Local authorities play an important role in influencing planners to account for the green infrastructure. Planners must strive to keep the existing green infrastructure, ensure its continuity, and add more urban greenery; local authorities should account for scientific evidence concerning the role of urban greenery, and scientists should provide simpler, condensed recommendations.

Çoklu Medya Türlerinde Posthümanizm ve Anlatıların Eyleyiciliği

Materyal ekoeleştiriden posthüman ekoeleştiriye dönüşte öykü anlatıcılığını ve maddelerin eyleyiciliğini vurgulayan Serpil Oppermann, 2016 tarihli “Posthümanizmden Posthüman Ekoeleştiriye” (“From Posthumanism to Posthuman Ecocriticism”) başlıklı makalesinde, “uyaranlara tepki veren sentetik maddeyi nasıl yorumlarız? Kendiliğinden etkinlik belirtileri sergileyen bu tekno-bilimsel eyleciliklerin kültürel çıkarımları nelerdir? Somut karakteri içinde bu yeni gerçekliği nasıl anlamlandırır, maddeci eyleyiciliklerle kodlanmış ‘yaratıcı oluşun’ kültürel ve ekolojik katmanlarını nasıl kavramsallaştırırız?” diye sorar (23) . Bu sorular, posthümanizmin kuramsal çerçevesinin artık netlik kazandığı, posthüman akış ve oluş gibi kavramların akademik kitlelerin zihninde berraklaştığı bugünlerde artık o kadar da hayret verici görünmüyor. Asıl şaşırtıcı olan ise aradan geçen beş yıl gibi kısacık bir zamanda posthümanizmin akademik bilinirliğinin ve doğru biçimde konumlanışının bu kadar büyük bir hızla gerçekleşmesidir. Ancak buradan duyduğumuz umutlu hisler, yüzümüzü posthüman bedenlerin bizzat kendilerini oluşturan günlük yaşantılarımıza ve madde ile her zaman birbirine bağlı olan anlam üretme pratiklerimize çevirdiğimizde ne yazık ki yok oluyor. Burada kuramsal açıdan çözümlenmeyi bekleyen iki yönlü bir sorun bulunuyor: Maddenin öykü anlatıcılığının sürekli olarak yanlış anlaşılması bu sorunun bir yönünü, insan biçimlilik diye tercüme edebileceğimiz antropomorfizmin yine insanı merkeze koyan bir anlayışa destek çıkıyormuş gibi algılanması ise ikinci yönünü teşkil ediyor. Bu nedenle, posthümanizmin ve maddenin anlatılara dair dolanıklığının akademi dışı dünyada da ses getirmesi, anlaşılması, kavranması ve bunlara bağlı politik, sosyal ve etik çerçevelerin yeniden çizilmesi gerekiyor. Bunun en hızlı, en kolaylaştırıcı ve en sağlam kaynağının çoklu medya türlerine dönmek olduğu inancındayım.

U EU se reciklira oko 60% otpada, a u Crnoj Gori manje od 10%. Svaki stanovnik Crne Gore godišnje “proizvede” 330 kg otpada, bez turističkog otpada, a prema istraživanjima ta cifra će do 2020. dostići 450 kg. U zemljama EU je, 2010. je stupila na snagu zabrana upotrebe plastičnih kesa u cilju smanjenja zagađivanja životne sredine. U EU zagađivač plaća i može biti krivično gonjen zbog zagađivanja životne sredine. Smanjenje rizika od ekoloških incidenata nije moguće bez značajnih investicija i izgradnje sistema upravljanja rizikom u skladu sa EU propisima i praksom; Pouzdan uvid u stanje životne sredine i nadzor nad primjenom propisa bili bi gotovo nemogući bez članstva u Evropskoj agenciji za zaštitu životne sredine i drugim relevantnim institucijama EU.

ECOLOGIZATION OF ECONOMY AS A TOOL OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, MITIGATION CONSEQUENCES OF CLIMATE CHANGES AND PRECONDITION FOR INTEGRATION PROCESS TOWARD EUROPEAN UNION

Climate changes have been taking their share in last 30 years all over the world. Loss of soil caused by frequent flooding and soil erosion has resulted in increasing number of hungry people left without roof over their heads. Lack of fresh water is considered to be key issue nowadays. Conventional energetic resources are being lowered daily. All those facts were confirmed by the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment of our planet. Ecological crisis is getting worse every day without possibility to get out of it. This imposes emergent and effective ecologization of human society on global scale. First of all, it is necessary to conduct ecologization within economic sector, which is obligatory task to developed, less developed countries and especially to the countries going through socio-economic transition. All investments should be planned and analyzed on ecological basis, taking into account rules and laws of the European Union (EU). The investment is considered to be ecologically acceptable if it applies waste-less technologies with low energy input and products that are environmental friendly, whereby the Pollution Prevention should be a dominant approach. This relates especially to forestry and wood-industry which is basic economy sector in Western Balkan countries. Major cost savings could be done within this sector, which would cut down our needs after woods and new sources of fresh water. The most present questions in the Western Balkan countries, especially in BiH, questions that mainly correspond with serious environmental disturbances and climate changes, are those of hydro energetic sector. Without any kind of sever previous ecological study, there are being destroyed even last streams by construction of flow-through hydroelectric power plants, and building of high dams for large hydroelectric power plants. Some large and ecologically questionable investments are planned within Adriatic equator (territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina). Besides, there is yet to be solved route of Vc-corridor in its most delicate shares. Water is being re-directed from one watershed into another. Irreverence of both ecological laws and demands jeopardizes the biodiversity, specific habitats, especially endemic forms of life. This imposes need after more distinct stand of the EU toward all countries seeking to become its member on achieving and implementation of required ecological obligations in each aspect. In other words, there should not be new investment done unless there is a visible ecological base for it. Every single Euro has to be additionally „turned into green“. Likewise USAID (United States Agency for International Development) has done it through its after-war recovery programs in BiH achieving the outstanding results. As a first steps in achieving of sustainability is ecologization of educational system.

PROSTREDIE A POSTAVA V ČESKO-SLOVENSKOM (DEDINSKOM) REALIZME

The paper is focused on the character and the space in the Slovak literary realism. These significant attributes are compositional joined. For writers of this period—M. Kukučín, K. V. Rais—autobiographical elements are characteristic. Both authors pointed to (de)formation of characters influenced by reality of that time and mainly by the space. It reveals their essence of the interpersonal relations that are reflected from many aspects. Realistic picture of the village was for these writers not only cliché. The village was not only (literary) home, but it gives space for psychological analysis of characters.

Toys have an important effect on the development of children, who are our future. Toys having such an importance should be handled sensitively in the design process. With industrialization, toy designs are mostly realized through factories. The designs of toys produced in the factories focus on plastic and its derivatives. Today, sustainable designs in toys are among the products preferred by parents. There are many types of sustainable toys. In this direction, the effect of sustainable products on the design of wooden toys is the aim of the research. In order to achieve this aim, a descriptive analysis of the data obtained by using document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was made. Necessary evaluations were made by examining the studies and approaches related to sustainable designs in toys. In this direction, suggestions have been put forward for the studies that can be done for the dissemination of sustainability in toy design. Finally, in the light of the data obtained during the research process, it was concluded that parents pay more attention to the choice of wooden and sustainable toys they would buy for their children.
