“UNESCO Music City Kırşehir International Music Conference”, which was held between 17 – 18 May 2022 in cooperation with Kırşehir Municipality and Ahi Evran University, was held on 31 October 2019, “07 – 08 July”, which examines the opportunities and obstacles of the city, which was included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network under the music theme, on the current theme. It was important because it aimed to continue the same discussion with a conference this time by following the "21 Kırşehir National Music Workshop". Thus, by ensuring the continuity of the events organized, sustainability, one of the basic principles of the "UNESCO Creative City Networks", was aimed, while a new step was taken to seek common solutions on cities in cooperation, one of the prominent themes of creative city networks. The first day of the conference, which spanned two days and included many papers, took place at the Neşet Ertaş Culture and Art Center, which hosted the "Kırşehir Municipality Book Days" between 13 and 22 May 2022. The conference, which ended at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, was followed by the "Poets are Competing" composition competition, a creative cities network project, in which contestants from different cities participated, supporting the production of new compositions, the training of new poets and the continuation of bozlak music after the death of folk poet Neşet Ertaş. After the awards were given to the owners of the three compositions selected in the competition, Kırşehir Municipality stated that it wanted to continue the competition every year.
