This paper aims to introduce the reader into the neuron’s gradual discovery since the late nineteenth century and it also become an opportunity to pay homage to the great Romanian neurologist, professor and academician Gheorghe Marinescu. Methodologically, this paper is a bibliographic study focused on two works that summarize the results of the neuron’ sci¬entific researches both at the begining of the XXth and XXIst centuries: 1. G. Marinescu, ‘Data and new research on the nerve cell’s biology’ (1916) and 2. R. Brillaud, L-Y. Bocquet, E. Abdoun, ‘Incroyables neurones!’ (2012). The results of the paper points out, on one hand, the major neu¬rological scientific contribution of the professor and researcher Gheorghe Marinescu in its period of time, and on the other hand, they introduce in neuroscience as it is perceived nowadays, mainly by interdisciplinary approach,while the neuro-continent goes on provoking, intriguing and defying researchers’ limits.

All History of Medicine and Pharmacy books often mention the name of the scientist C. Istrati. Here are some of these works: Medical and pharmaceutical education in Bucharest – From the beginning up to the present”(1963), Semi Centenary of Faculty of Pharmacy of Bucharest (1923–1973), History of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Romania (1994), books of history of medicine etc. During 1880–1887, C. Istrati was Professor of Organic Chemistry at School of Pharmacy, founded by Carol Davila (1828–1884). The third edition of Romanian Pharmacopoeia was performed and published in 1893 under the authority of C. Istrati and N. Maldarescu (1842–1927) The portrait of C. Istrati is in Gallery Teachers as part of Collection of History of Pharmacy „Conf. dr. Farm. Zisi St. Fârșirotu” in the Faculty of Pharmacy of Bucharest In this work, we present historical data concerning the personality of Professor C Istrati. As founder of many scientific societies, he was concerned with promoting science in the conferences. The goal of the conferences was the progress of Romanian science, that reason leading C Istrati „to guide Romanian scientific world to a collective meeting every year before the opening of classes...”.

Gregoriu (Grigore) Ştefănescu was the third direc tor of the Natural History Museum from Bucharest. His activity as director (1867–1893) in a period of transition between the old museum of Valştain and Ferreratti to the new one of Grigore Antipa, was revealed. Also some important and precious pieces from museum collection from his time.
