Processes of migration and the transformations resulted after them represent the most topical issue for modern Georgia and the world. How do migration and new housing environment impact on the construing of sacral space among migrants? This article focuses on eco-migrants that migrated from highland zone of Georgia, Svaneti to the lowlands in last quarter of 20thcentury. We will represent different examples of construing sacral spaces among eco-migrants depending on the type of settlement in new areas. Purpose of the research is, on the basis of study of migration process ongoing in Svaneti, to reveal and study the psychological-mental relation, which connects the personality with origin place. This relation, besides material culture, especially clearly is shown in spiritual culture of the population.Migrated population continues to live in the multiethnic society of the lowland in terms sharply different from the highland conditions. It becomes a member of this society and establishes some relations with it. The migrants coming to the lowlands bring about those psychological-mental sentiments, which connect them with their origin place. These sentiments were reflected in urban planning of the new environment, in distribution of housing and sacral space. Events appear quite unusual for Svaneti traditional life. It is known that the Svan towers had a defensive significance in origin place but in some places migrants started to build miniature tower-like constructions on the graves to identify their origin. Migrants try to observe the principle of settlement, which existed in Svaneti traditional life. Housing and sacral spaces in places of their new settlements is organized by taking into consideration the environment terms and psychological-mental thinking of the migrants. This process outlines many interesting and yet-unstudied nuances. Some scholars consider that shrines and ritual practice of Svaneti life originates from the Christian traditions. In new settlement places the migrants met old, abandoned Christian churches or ruins of shrines. They consider it their obligation to restore the shrines, to take care of them with reverence, though it is interesting that in most cases the migrants do not continue to hold folk holidays and rituals around these shrines.Unfortunately, in some cases of arbitrary restoration of these shrines, resulted in loss or distortion of cultural heritage. Next to the old shrines they start to build new ones. At the same time, the migrants try to build separately those shrines of their villages or their families, which were considered to be the strongest sacral centers in the places of their old settlement. The person, knowing traditional construction technologies, usually builds these shrines exactly by the architectural nuances preserved in the firstd welling. Despite this, these new shrines still fail to replace old ones being in mentality of the migrants, which is clearly reflected in their emotional sentiments. On the other hand, this is not true for all eco-migrants living in Kvemo Kartli. In Tsalka district of Kvemo Kartli eco-migrants tend to continue their folk holidays around old churches or restored small shrines. Why do we have two main different ways of construing sacral spaces and performing religious rituals around them?

This contribution deals with differences and similarities in perceiving drama- therapy in patients with neurotic disorder in the context of psychiatric treatment. The first goal ascertains if there are differences in assessment of dramatherapy according to the membership of dynamic or cognitive-behavioural group. The second goal ascertains differences during the first therapeutic session. The research assemblage was created by 57 patients from dynamic and cognitive-behavioural (KBT) groups from two mental hospitals in the Czech Republic. Data were gained by two-factor semantic differential and they were statistically assessed by a t-test (and further amended by qualitative group interviews). Conclusions have shown that the membership of patients of dynamic or KBT group has not an impact on their assessment of dramatherapeutic process.

The image of an addicted person is quite trivial: such people are perceived as uneducated and weak-willed people, losers, most likely coming from working--class and often pathological families. The ruling class uses this notion, which is seen in the current opinions on the “500+” programs or other social programs. However, the demystification of the image of a person addicted to alcohol is only the top of the iceberg – in this article, I would like to present how the social per-ceptions about alcoholics, created by liberal elites and the media serving them, affect the lives of alcoholics, their social perception and the difficulty of reaching for medical help in the fight against addiction.

Implementation of the sustainable socio-economic development goals is an important task for any country, which is why researchers pay attention to the analysis of factors that influence development. Human development is one of the components of development in a wide context. The level of human development largely depends on the quality of the institutional environment in a society. The article examines the relationship between the human development level and the institutional environment quality. Human Development Index (HDI) and Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) are used. The analysis includes data for 188 countries for the period from 2017 to 2019. Three clusters are obtained as a result of cluster analysis. The Spearman Rank Order and Kendall Tau Correlations are calculated for each cluster. The link between HDI and WDI is found to be directly positive. Moreover, the strength of the relationship depends on the quality of indicators in groups of countries - the higher the quality of indicators, the stronger the link between them. The results are obtained using the Statistica application package.

The article analyses the concept of Polish national identity in Juliusz Słowacki’s Lilla Weneda. The author argues that Słowacki shows in the drama the genesis of Poles as a nation which came into being asa result of the bloody conquest of the Venedians by the Lechits. The article characterises the attitude of the largest Polish trade union centres towards the Camp of National Unity (Polish: Obóz Zjednoczenia Narodowego, OZN). The dif-fering opinions on OZN expressed between 1937 and 1939 by representatives of trade union organisations and the actions taken in their consequences were, to a large extent, conditioned by the ideological stance of individual circles. They also resulted from historical backgrounds and the relations of some headquarters with political parties. They were also a consequence of competition for supremacy in the labour movement.

The subject of this research is the folklore material that is set in traditional art, thought, knowledge and practice, and which has its place in postmodern drama. This opens the opportunity for new interpretations of folklore traditions that allow encoding and decoding of said folklore material. Through the method of analytical and comparative research, the paper shows how far the folklore motive from the story “Siljan the Stork” is being transformed and adapted in the literary drama “Siljan the Stork Chance” by Dejan Dukovski. In this way, the aim of the paper was, through the clash between “literary”, “modern”, “folklore” and “myth”, to interpret the processes of coding, decoding and transformation of folklore models in contemporary drama.

Religion as a cultural universal can be approached from many disciplines. This paper analyses the use of signs in the Lakota inipi (purification) rite from the perspective of semiotics of religion, applying basic semiotic concepts and theories. The semantic, syntactic and pragmatic approaches are based on a description of the Lakota Inipi rite as recorded in religious anthropological source. The detailed description of the rite in that text is the starting point for a semiotic analysis, for the identification of signs, and sign-acts, and for understanding the role this rite played in the life and religious tradition of the tribe. The aim of the analysis is to understand how the signs demonstrate religious doctrines and help contact with supernatural forces, and at the same time, how they express the group cohesion.

The aim of this article is to present the contribution of Michal Sajewicz to the development of research on the contemporary and historical anthroponymy of the Bialystok region. The researcher is a well-known and respected linguist, scientifically associated with the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. The Slavist published a monograph and 28 scientific articles on anthroponymy. This study shows that the Professor’s interests focus on the following categories of personal names: first names, surnames, nicknames and marytonyms, from the area of the present Hajnówka district in the Podlasie voivodeship. On the basis of analysis of the Linguist’s research achievements, it can be concluded that the subjects of his detailed onomastic investigations are: 1) first names of Kleszczele and surrounding villages residents in the 16th–18th centuries, 2) first names of graduates of the Secondary School with the Belarusian Language of Teaching in Hajnówka from the 50’s to the 90’s of the 20th century, 3) patronymics surnames with a formant -uk in the Hajnówka district 4) nicknames of Lewkowo Stare and the surrounding area residents, and 5) names of wives in the Belarusian dialects of the vicinity of Narewka. In his linguistic research, Michal Sajewicz also addresses issues related to history, sociology and religious diversity of the Polish-East Slavic language borderland. Their results were published in the monograph and 28 scientific articles. This text also attempts to show to what extent the historical, geographic, ethnic, religious, cultural and sociological conditions were reflected in the research on the Polish-East Slavic language borderland conducted by the Slavist. The review of Michal Sajewicz’s research achievements presented here allows us to state that he made a significant contribution to research on the anthroponymy of the Bialystok region.

Food couriers working the evening and nighttime shifts are a special case of platform-mediated work, and an under-researched category of contracted workers in the digitalised platform economy. Drawing on a night ethnography, the paper focuses on the strategic role that migrant and non-migrant gig workers play in supporting communities in four cities: Bucharest and Oradea in Romania, and Cork in Ireland. London, the fourth locality, is the “glocturnal” city in Europe, with a long history of immigration and an exceptional status due to its high demand for migrant workers 24/7. This ethnographic account aims to impact the emerging field in the digitalisation of labour migration and contribute to debates on digitalisation of inequalities and precarisation of nightworkers.
