Cloud computing in the Educational sector has immensely enhanced academic performance in the developed nations and the professional contributions may benefit the education strategy of Nigeria particularly in transforming the traditional education model to computer based virtual applications with a focus on e-pedagogy. Cloud computing remains a paradox and open to academic debate with respect to business adoption of its utility, and studies depict that cloud computing to an extent is still at its early incubation in institutions of higher learning; that also affirms the infancy of cloud computing in academia, and this has caused the dearth of a unified definition and understanding of cloud computing. However, this study will develop academic definition and meaning of cloud computing with reference to institutional applications This study will also explore the benefits of cloud computing in learning, and focus on the development of relevant models for resource usage in higher education institutions. Author shows that successful adoption of cloud computing by various educational institutions in Nigeria depends on their transition strategies in terms of resource acquisition and deployment. These strategies could form barriers in delivering effective teaching learning, and assessment of instruments encountered through migrating to the cloud. Hence this study is geared towards bridging the gap between the usage of cloud computing in education and effective delivery of educational services via the 'cloud' in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Nigeria.

This article is a continuation of research and a deeper study of archivists’ current understanding of concepts drawn from bibliology and information science theory. Starting with a discussion of the similarities between these academic disciplines, the following terms will be discussed: the informational function, informational activities, and informational services of archives. In order to distinguish between them, the author traced the context in which they have so far appeared in bibliological, informological, and archival literature, even without the accompanying adjective “informational”. The result of such an analysis is the definition of these terms for archival science and a precise delineation of the boundaries between them.

This study identifies the existing model of handling the circulation of electronic documents at the Jagiellonian Library (Pol. Biblioteka Jagiellońska, BJ) and attempts to create an original model of electronic document management. The research was carried using the case study method. The participant observation technique and direct interviews were employed to collect the data. As a result of the research, a model of electronic document circulation has been proposed. Within this method, it is crucial to eliminate physical data carriers in the collection-forming process and digitalize the process of archiving files. It may contribute to shortening the process each electronic document needs to go through before reaching the user. In the future, this analysis may help develop further research projects on improving the management of IT processes in libraries.

This article presents the application of a selected cards or ting toolin the study of an organization chart and labeling system. The aim of the project was to use the OptimalSort application to prepare card sorting studies in the Information Portal of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, carried out in February 2020, during the workshops at the 2nd National Scientific Conference “WIAD20”, devoted to information architecture. After a short introduction to the card sorting technique and the application selected for its implementation, the results of research carried out in a group of 12 people are presented.

The purpose of this article is to indicate the usefulness of digital technologies, in particular eyetracking, in the analysis of information architecture on e-learning platforms. In the era of ubiquitous computerization, a significant expansion of the discussed technologies is noticeable for all branches of the economy and science. We also note the continuing development of the IT services market. New tools and technologies available on the market affect and significantly change the face of previously understood education, which evolves from its original shape into new forms. The effect of this phenomenon is the requirement to use ever newer didactic aids, and thus, proper preparation of children and young people for the skillful use of available technologies. A characteristic example of this type of assistance is e-learning, which currently supports education for both students and teachers. The article will present the results of pilot studies, based on the analysis of selected educational platforms using the method of tracking eye movements. The aim of the study was to check how and at what time participants were able to find and analyze relevant information on e-learning portals depending on their architecture and legibility. The analysis of the results of the study and data collected has allowed us to identify weaknesses and strengths in the structure of information contained on e-learning platforms, the improvement of which can significantly contribute to the increase of the quality and usability of distance learning tools. The results of the research indicate the problem of the readability of large information giants and navigational complexity.

The Library and Information Science Department at the University of Silesia in Katowice is launching a new BA degree course in the 2018–2019 academic year. The programme combines in an original way information and communication technologies with humanities and social sciences. The paper presents the education concept of information architecture and the preparatory work involved in developing and implementing the course. The programme structure, selected module contents, the graduate profile and job opportunities for information architects are discussed.

The goal of the paper is to discuss the changes in organization and the offer of library services, which are systematically introduced by the Main Library of the Wrocław University of Economics and Business, in response to the changes of the modern information technologies, expectations and needs of users and the realization of the ideal of continual improvement of the library services. The organizational changes for improvement of effectiveness and better professionalization of the library services as well as undertaken educational initiatives are discussed especially in the context of improving information literacy of the University’s employees regarding electronic sources of scientific information and bibliometric tools. The paper is based on the literature regarding the changes in the structure and objectives of an academic library, as well as the experiences and observations of the author.

The analysis of randomly selected samples for text readability using Robert Gunning's formula and expert calculation of the results indicates that only 16.6% (3 samples) fall within the text understandability range. The analyzed samples that are not at the comprehensibility level come from textbooks for various subjects for grades IV, V, and VI. Therefore, it is difficult to talk about any convergence of the vagueness index within education for a specific age of students. Samples from a history textbook for grade 4 are characterized by a high index of both F and G. This means that the textbook is written in too difficult a language and the availability of information is the least (high index D). Isn't this practice discouraging for 10-11 year old students? 27.7% of text samples are at the limit of intelligibility of the read text (FOG 10.16-10.96).

One of the developments in the field of educational evaluation utilized as an evaluation tool to identify the key elements that drive the success of blended learning is the TOPSIS-TTA-based Discrepancy evaluation application. This evaluation application combines the TTA (Tat Twam Asi) concept, the TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method, and the Discrepancy evaluation model concept. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the implementation outcomes of the TOPSIS-TTA-based Discrepancy evaluation application at IT vocational schools in Bali, as well as the results of usage trials, final product revisions, and its dissemination. The research method used focused on the usage trial stage, final product revisions stage, dissemination stage, and implementation stage. The usage trials comprised 39 respondents, while the application test involved 150 participants. For the final product revisions, three research team members were engaged, along with 150 respondents during the dissemination activity. The assessment instruments employed during the trial usage and application testing were questionnaires. Bali’s IT vocational schools served as the study’s location. The study’s data analysis method was descriptive quantitative by converting the results of the application effectiveness percentage which has been compared with the standard effectiveness scale of eleven. The findings of this investigation suggest the effectiveness level of evaluation application including the advanced category, so that in general the evaluation application is ready to be implemented on a wide scale in the field. The significance of this study in the field of educational evaluation lies in its ability to simplify the process for evaluators in choosing high quality evaluation tools, relying on dependable trials of application implementation and usage.

We draw on a substantial body of theoretical and empirical research on workplace collaboration software, synthetic training data, and employee engagement analytics. We carried out a quantitative literature review of ProQuest, Scopus, and the Web of Science throughout May 2023, with search terms including “generative artificial intelligence-based virtual human resource management” + “immersive remote collaboration and workplace tracking systems,” “mobile biometric and sentiment data,” and “algorithmic monitoring and wearable augmented reality technologies.” As we analyzed research published in 2023, only 170 papers met the eligibility criteria, and 52 mainly empirical sources were selected. ATLAS.ti was used in conducting a systematic review of the literature. Data visualization tools: Dimensions (bibliometric mapping) and VOSviewer (layout algorithms). Reporting quality assessment tool: PRISMA. Methodological quality assessment tools include: AMSTAR, Distiller SR, ROBIS, and SRDR.

The research paper outlines one of the major problems facing scholarly communications these days – counting citations of authors' research results (trough articles, monographs, papers, dissertations, projects) and the impact of their publications on national and international level. The author focuses at the leading goal of publishers, researchers and academic institutions – to obtain and increase the journals’ Impact Factor as “a sign of quality” of their intellectual products and analyses the difficulties faced by Bulgarian scientist to publish in Bulgarian Journals with Impact Factor (IF) based on a detailed information survey. The results of the study show that only 64% of Bulgarian journals with IF, identified in citation-based research analytics tool InCites Journal Citation Reports Journal at Web of Science platform can be clearly identified as “Bulgarian journals”. And this provoked the following research question: “Which journals could be classified as “Bulgarian” and why the other 36% of Bulgarian journals with Impact Factor have problems with their national affiliation recognition? The article is a result of the project “Design and Development of a Prototype of the Information System “Citation Index of Publications by Bulgarian Authors (Social Sciences), which reflects the current status of the issue of citation tracking of Bulgarian authors in Bulgarian scientific literature as well the lack of such tool on national level for evaluation and analysis of publications based on scientometrics indicators.

The purpose of the article is a comprehensive analysis of the American concept of threats to information security and determination of priority areas of the US’s activity in creating a secure national cyberspace. The methodological basis of the study is general scientific and special methods of cognition, in particular, systemic approach, analysis, synthesis, and logical method. Methods of content analysis, comparative and analytical monitoring of Internet resources of US government bodies responsible for information security are also used. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the expansion of ideas about theoretical aspects in the field of information security and the systematic analysis of instrumental, conceptual foundations and practical aspects of information security in the United States. Conclusions. The globalisation of information systems has created a completely new situation in the security field. In cyberspace the main threat to the US national security comes from states and intermediaries acting in their interests. They have the necessary skills and technologies to carry out destructive cyberattacks for military and political purposes, and also effectively use cyberespionage methods, which not only entails economic losses, but also causes great damage to strategically important industries for the US. The American concept covers such three key levels of cyber security as the state, private business and individual users. There are such defence priorities for the United States as ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure, information networks and systems; quality control of used IT equipment; formation of effective mechanisms of interlevel communication and raising awareness at all levels. An important component of the US National Cyber Strategy is international cooperation on information security issues. In this regard, at the international level the United States seeks to implement such opportunities as to encourage countries to increase responsibility for ensuring the security of information systems and networks at the national and global level; to create the legal regime necessary to ensure cross-border access to information; to form a regime of collective cyber defence within the framework of NATO and other bilateral and multilateral agreements with strategic partners; to preserve the maximum possible freedom of action in cyberspace in order to conduct all types of information operations both during military conflicts and in peacetime.

The purpose of the work is a systematic analysis, substantiation and determination of the key competencies of a library specialist, necessary for the successful implementation of innovations in the media space of modern libraries and improvement of the quality of user service. The work methodology. A systematic review of the literature was carried out, which analyzed scientific publications and studies related to the competencies of library specialists and their influence on the formation of innovative media space. An empirical approach was used, which includes surveying library professionals to collect specific data on their competencies and experience in implementing innovations in the media space of the library. Scientific novelty. The research is focused on the integrated analysis of the key competencies of the library specialist and the development of recommendations for improving the efficiency of library practices, taking into account the modern requirements for library work and rapid changes in the information environment. The article reveals an innovative approach to considering competencies as a dynamic tool aimed at actively introducing innovations into the media space of libraries, ensuring their adaptation to the challenges of the digital age. Conclusions. The key competencies required for a librarian in the age of digital transformation are highlighted, such as information literacy, digital media skills, and professional communication. Mastering modern technologies, in particular interactive and multimedia, allows a librarian to provide users with innovative services and meet their information needs. A systematic approach to competence development is proposed, including education, training and continuous professional development to ensure the relevance of skills. It is emphasized that the development of the competences of the library staff contributes to the improvement of the quality of user service and creates a foundation for innovations in the media space. Recommendations for the list of professional competencies that can be taken into account in the Professional Standard "Library and Information Specialist" in the context of the development of the innovative media space of libraries have been formulated.
